    • Goes deep in victory
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a 2-1 win over Washington.

Advice: Hernandez's second-inning solo shot put the Dodgers on the board and amounted for half of the team's total output of runs in the low-scoring win. The long ball was the slugger's sixth of the campaign and his first over his past 11 contests. Hernandez has trailed off a bit of late after a strong start to his Dodgers tenure, but he still ranks second on the team and is tied for 11th in the majors with 20 RBI. • Gavin Williams shut down with elbow discomfort
Gavin Williams (elbow) has been shut down from throwing for at least one week after experiencing renewed discomfort.

Advice: Not good. Williams has been on the shelf since spring training due to right elbow inflammation and appeared to be getting close to making his season debut prior to this latest setback. The 24-year-old top pitching prospect should be ready to resume throwing next week after receiving a PRP injection. However, there is no official timetable for his return at this juncture. • Hoskins has three hits, two RBI in win
Rhys Hoskins went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Thursday.

Advice: Hoskins is hitting just .226/.320/.452 on the year but does have five home runs and 17 RBI in 23 games. He’s been making solid contact with a barrel rate of just under 13 percent and has just 20 strikeouts in his 23 games, so at some point, that level of quality contact will lead to a hot streak. Maybe this is the start of one? Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:19 pm

    • Peralta has first poor start of the season
Freddy Peralta allowed five runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: It all came down to command for Peralta, who walked five and struck out five on the day. Peralta, who has been electric all season, had just a 40 percent zone rate on the day and an 18 percent chase rate, so he wasn’t able to pound the strike zone and didn’t make the Pirates chase pitches out of the strike zone. His fastball, which had taken a massive step forward in 2024, had just a 40 percent zone rate on its own. Without that, Peralta was never able to get into a rhythm. We’ve seen his fastball command fail him at times, but this is the first time in 2024, so hopefully it’s not the beginning of a poor stretch of command. Peralta gets a tough test against the Rays next week, but should still be started in all leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:07 pm
    • Back in action Thursday
Raleigh (mouth) will start at catcher and bat third in Thursday's game versus the Rangers.

Advice: Raleigh missed Wednesday's 5-1 loss following a dental procedure, but he'll be back in action for Thursday's series finale. The switch-hitting catcher enters play Thursday having slugged home runs in four of his last five games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:22 am
    • Ends homer drought
Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Arozarena went deep in his first plate appearance of the game, snapping a 19-start homeless drought. He struck out in his remaining three at-bats and has now punched out three times in three of his last five contests. Arozarena has gotten off to a poor start to the season, highlighted by a .158 average and a 29.1 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:53 am
    • Bat wakes up Wednesday
Judge went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the A's.

Advice: Joe Boyle appeared to have struck Judge out in the second inning but was charged with a balk on the third strike instead, and the Yankees slugger made him pay by crushing his next pitch over the fence in right field. Judge had gone just 4-for-31 (.129) over the prior eight games without a long ball, so the reprieve may have been just what he needed to kick things into gear. On the season, he's slashing .191/.319/.383 with four homers and 13 RBI through 25 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:51 am
    • Getting day off
Naylor is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Naylor started each of the previous three games at catcher for the Guardians, but he'll be given some rest for the Thursday afternoon tilt. David Fry will draw the start at catcher for Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:26 am
    • Awarded fourth win
Garrett (4-0) got the win over the Giants on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk over two innings while striking out four.

Advice: Garrett replaced Sean Manaea with two outs in the bottom of the fifth and retired Jorge Soler on the first pitch to end the inning. The reliever then needed only 12 pitches to get through the next frame before surrendering a solo homer to open the seventh. It marked the first earned run allowed on the season for Garrett, who is now tied for the major-league lead in wins. The right-hander has been outstanding out of the bullpen for New York thus far, posting a 0.71 ERA to go along with a 25:4 K:BB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:11 am
