  • Braves call up left-hander Ray Kerr
Braves recalled LHP Ray Kerr from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: The 29-year-old will join the Braves after the team placed Tyler Matzek on the 15-day injured list with an elbow injury. Kerr posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 35/9 K/BB ratio across his 27 frames with the Padres last season. He’ll add to Atlanta’s bullpen depth while he’s with the team. Rotoworld Today, 6:59 am

  • Mets send Tylor Megill on rehab assignment
Mets sent RHP Tylor Megill (shoulder) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: This will be Megill’s third rehab start since being placed on the injured list at the start of April. The 28-year-old recently pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on two hits, while striking out four with Double-A Binghamton. “Arm feels good, body feels good – healthy is the most important part. Overall, yeah I felt good,” Megill said after the Double-A rehab start. If he continues to progress, he should be back with the Mets in the coming weeks. Rotoworld Today, 6:54 am

  • Cardinals send Matt Carpenter on rehab assignment
Cardinals sent DH Matt Carpenter (oblique) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: The 38-year-old veteran was taking swings prior to the weekend and will get his first rehab assignment since being placed on the injured list in early April. If all things go well, the Cardinals should expect Carpenter to be on the active roster in the coming days, but fantasy managers might want to consider other options if they need additional depth on their rosters. • Draws start Tuesday
Vasquez is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Advice: As was expected after he was promoted from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Vasquez will end up filling the rotation spot vacated by Joe Musgrove (elbow), who was moved to the 15-day injured list. Vasquez has previously made a pair of starts for the Padres this season, covering 7.2 innings between those outings while giving up eight runs (five earned) on 11 hits and three walks. • Pops fifth homer
Gordon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder took Walker Buehler deep in the top of the second inning to briefly tie the game at 3-3, but Los Angeles took the lead for good in the bottom of the frame. Gordon has gone yard in back-to-back games and is up to five homers on the year in only 32 games -- a surprisingly power display for a player whose career high is nine home runs in 138 games, set in 2022. The rest of Gordon's numbers are far less impressive, and he's slashing .212/.244/.424 with nine runs, 16 RBI and only one steal in two attempts. Rotowire.com Today, 6:29 am

  • Starts in left field
Duran started in left field and went 0-for-2 in Monday's 4-2 win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran made his first outfield start of 2024, coming against lefty Alex Wood. He was eventually pinch hit for by Evan Carter when a right-handed reliever entered the game. Duran, who started 32 games in the outfield last season, will be part of the crew that replaces the injured Wyatt Langford (hamstring), who is expected to miss three-to-four weeks. Duran is the lone righty-hitting outfielder in that replacement mix, joining lefties Carter and Travis Jankowski. Of the trio, Carter is expected to get the bulk of the starts. Duran wielded a capable backup bat in 2023, posting 14 home runs and a .767 OPS, but he's off to less enticing start this year (.226/.293/.264). Rotowire.com Today, 3:44 am
