  • Corbin Carroll homers, drives in five 5 in win
    Corbin Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and five RBI in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

    Advice: This was a much-needed big game for Carroll, who is still slashing just .211/.300/.278 on the season with two home runs and 12 RBI. The home run was well-struck at 104.3 mph off the bat and traveling 390 feet. While that’s great, it was the only ball on the day that Carroll hit over 87 mph. It doesn’t make sense to trade Carroll away while his value is so low, but we’ll need to see more consistent quality contact before we can be sure he’s fully healthy or ready for a hot stretch.   • Vierling posts multi-hit game in win Tuesday
    Matt Vierling went 2-for-5 with two RBI in the victory over the Guardians Tuesday.

    Advice: Vierling continues to hit as his .282 average and .155 ISO this year would be career-highs. The Tigers sent Parker Meadows to the minors earlier this week, leaving Vierling and Wenceel Perez as the only viable options in centerfield. Vierling has multiple paths to playing time as even with Perez in the lineup he got the start at third base. He should see everyday at-bats until he cools off, making him an option in deeper formats.   • Randy Arozarena homers in victory over White Sox
    Randy Arozarena swatted a two-run homer on Tuesday in the Rays’ win over the White Sox.

    Advice: Arozarena lifted a no-doubter to left field off White Sox starter Michael Soroka in the third inning for his sixth big fly of the season. The 29-year-old fantasy stalwart got off to a painfully-slow start at the outset of the year, but has turned it on of late, homering three times in his last five contests since May 3.   • Ibanez on base five times in Tigers victory Tuesday
    Andy Ibanez erupts for four hits, two home runs and four RBI in win over the Guardians



    Advice: Ibanez was on base five times as he went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and a walk. He’s a part-time player who sees most of his at-bats against left-handed pitching, but that could change with the rest of the Tigers offense floundering. Ibanez is now 8-for-18 since returning from the injured list on April 30th. In 35 at-bats this year, he’s hitting .364. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Nearing rehab assignment
    Manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Dominguez (elbow) is "inside two weeks" to begin a rehab assignment, Chris Kirschner of The Athleticreports.

    Advice: The 21-year-old's rehab from Tommy John surgery has apparently been progressing nicely, and he's close to being cleared for game action. Dominguez will require a lengthy rehab assignment before being reinstated, but he appears on track to return before the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 3:22 pm
     
  • Resumes swinging
    Manager Scott Servais said Tuesday that he has seen video of Canzone (shoulder) swinging at the Mariners' complex in Arizona, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

    Advice: Servais seemed pleased with the progress Canzone has made since landing on the injured list April 15. However, he noted that Canzone will require an extended rehab assignment, so the 26-year-old outfielder is likely still a few weeks away from returning to the Mariners' lineup.   • Jasson Domínguez nearing rehab assignment
    Jasson Domínguez (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment in mid-to-late May.

    Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Tuesday that Domínguez, who is recovering from last year’s Tommy John surgery, is less than two weeks away from getting into rehab games. He’s expected to be ready to rejoin New York’s outfield mix at some point next month.     Advice: Although Soler's shoulder injury has now kept him out of the lineup for three consecutive games, the Giants have not said anything that would suggest a future move to the IL for the 32-year-old slugger.
