  • Spencer Torkelson has two doubles, RBI in loss
    Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Tigers fell to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon in New York.

    Advice: Torkelson smacked a two-out double off of Nestor Cortes in the second inning, but was left stranded there. He then got the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ian Hamilton in the seventh inning. He’s still searching for his first home run of the season, but he does have 11 doubles and perhaps his bat is finally showing some signs of life.   • Spencer Torkelson moves down to seventh spot
    Spencer Torkelson is hitting seventh and playing first base against the Yankees on Saturday.

    Advice: Torkelson continues to move down in the lineup, and it’s easy to justify with a slash of .212/.282/.288 over 132 plate appearances. The first-overall pick in 2020 was excellent in the second-half of the 2023 campaign, but that hasn’t carried over whatsoever in 2024.   • Collects five hits in twin bill
    Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's doubleheader split versus the Tigers.

    Advice: Goldschmidt had not collected five hits over any two-game span this season prior to Tuesday. Even with the strong performance, the first baseman is slashing a mediocre .236/.323/.318 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored, three doubles and a stolen base over 29 contests. Goldschmidt has yet to lose playing time amid his slow start, but that could change once the Cardinals get players like Dylan Carlson (shoulder), Tommy Edman (wrist) and Matt Carpenter (oblique) back from the injured list. On the positive side, Goldschmidt has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, so he may be turning things around enough to maintain his place in the lineup. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:39 pm

    Advice: Goldschmidt one-hopped a two-run double off the wall as part of a four-run first inning for the Cardinals. He added an infield single, a stolen base and another run scored. The former MVP also struck out three times Saturday and has fanned at an elevated 30.1 percent so far this season.     Advice: Goldschmidt seems to be warming up at the plate. He collected two hits on Saturday for his third multi-hit game in his last five contests. Goldschmidt drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and scored on a base hit by Masyn Winn. He singled in the fifth and swiped second for his first stolen base of the season before scoring on a balk.   • Big effort in win
    Busch went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Red Sox.

    Advice: Busch has been great so far in his first season with the Cubs, as he's slashing .289/.347/.554 with six home runs and 17 RBI across 24 games. The 26-year-old regularly sits against southpaws, but when a righty is on the mound, Busch looks like a strong fantasy asset at the moment.
