• Homers in blowout win
Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Westburg did his damage early, lifting a two-run blast in the first inning. He had gone 0-for-7 over the first two games of the weekend series in Cincinnati. The homer was his first since April 21 and his sixth of the year. The infielder has added a strong .286/.336/.513 slash line with 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, four steals, five doubles and two triples through 32 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:05 pm
  • Jordan Westburg homers in win over Reds
Jordan Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Westburg jumped on Nick Lodolo in the first inning with a 378-foot home run that left the bat at 101.9 mph. It was Westburg’s sixth home run of the season to go along with 23 RBIs. It’s been a breakout month for the 25-year-old, but he’s seen his triple slash fall to .286/.336/.513 after going 6-for-28 over his last seven games. The quality of contact gains are real but Westburg is swinging and missing a lot more this season, so the batting average may continue to slip a little bit in the coming weeks. • Spencer Torkelson has two doubles, RBI in loss
Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Tigers fell to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon in New York.

Advice: Torkelson smacked a two-out double off of Nestor Cortes in the second inning, but was left stranded there. He then got the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ian Hamilton in the seventh inning. He’s still searching for his first home run of the season, but he does have 11 doubles and perhaps his bat is finally showing some signs of life. On the season, he’s slashing .216/.283/.304 with 12 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:05 pm

  • Ezequiel Tovar gets first day off of season
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the lineup to begin Sunday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: For the first time in 2024, Tovar will get a day off. The shortstop will at least begin Sunday’s finale on the bench with Alan Trejo handling his duties. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:54 am
  • Receiving first day off
Tovar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Tovar will take a seat for the first time all season after starting in each of Colorado's first 33 games, enabling Alan Trejo to enter the lineup at shortstop. The Rockies are likely hoping that a day on the bench will be helpful for Tovar as he looks to break out of his recent funk at the plate; over his last nine games, he's slashing .128/.171/.154 with a 39 percent strikeout rate. • Adley Rutschman posts three hits, homers in win
Adley Rutschman went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Saturday, leading the Orioles to a 2-1 victory over the Reds.

Advice: Rutschman spearheaded Baltimore’s offense in a rare low-scoring showdown at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park with his third three-hit effort of the season. He connected for a solo homer to left-center field -- his fifth round-tripper of the season -- off Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott in the fifth inning, which wound up being the difference in the contest. The 26-year-old franchise cornerstone has gone deep three times in his last eight contests since April 27. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:39 pm
  • Leads O's with three hits, homer
Rutschman went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Rutschman connected against left-hander Andrew Abbott in the fifth inning for his fifth homer of 2024, and it proved to be the winning run. With extra-base hits in each of his last three games, Rutschman is up to a .321/.361/.470 line through 32 games this season. He's been a bit overshadowed by Gunnar Henderson so far, but Rutschman is producing at a high level from the catcher and DH spots. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:05 pm
  • Spencer Torkelson moves down to seventh spot
Spencer Torkelson is hitting seventh and playing first base against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Torkelson continues to move down in the lineup, and it’s easy to justify with a slash of .212/.282/.288 over 132 plate appearances. The first-overall pick in 2020 was excellent in the second-half of the 2023 campaign, but that hasn’t carried over whatsoever in 2024. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues should be searching for a potential replacement if they haven’t cut bait already. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:34 am

  • Fighting slump
Seager went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 7-1 loss to Kansas City.

Advice: Seager delivered the Rangers' lone run with a single in the third inning. He's been mired in a slump and entered Friday's game batting .073 (3-for-41) with two RBI over the previous 11 games. Rangers general manager Chris Young took the long view when speaking with Kenndi Landry of MLB.com, indicating the club expected Seager to need some time to get going after undergoing hernia surgery in January. Young also feels there has been some bad luck, which speaks to the shortstop's .269 BABIP. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:57 am
