He was limited to light activity, but has since progressed to on-field batting practice. After his batting session Wednesday, Suzuki noted that he felt he was 80 percent recovered from his oblique strain and could begin a rehab assignment next week if he continues to progress, per Meghan Montemurro and LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune.       Padres acquired Luis Arraez and cash considerations from the Marlins for OF Dillon Head, OF Jakob Marsee, 1B Nathan Martorella and RHP Woo-Suk Go.

Arraez will head to the Padres after hitting .299 with a 719 OPS over 137 at-bats with the Marlins in 2023, and he’s a career .324/.377/.423 hitter in his time with the Fish and the Twins.       Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not factoring into the decision.

      Advice: Morton continues his good run, but it comes without a win as Atlanta didn’t provide him the necessary run support. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.50 while scattering five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morton didn’t look good in the middle of April, but the 40-year-old has been a very strong option outside of those two outings where he gave up 12 of the 14 runs he’s given up in 2024.       Advice: Rooker opened the scoring Friday night, crushing a titanic 440-foot homer off Ryan Weathers in the fourth inning to give Oakland the lead. Despite sporting a .211 batting average, the Athletics designated hitter has provided plenty of power with six homers while slugging .507.       Brent Rooker hit a two-run homer to help the A’s to a win Friday over the Marlins.

      Advice: Rooker absolutely scorched a two-run blast off Ryan Weathers to center, with the ball travelling an estimated 440 feet. That’s the sixth-homer of the season for the right-hander, and he’s up to 15 RBI over the A’s first 32 games. Three of McMahon's five homers this year have come in the last eight games, and the power surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .319/.407/.513 with 13 runs and 19 RBI in 32 contests.
