Martin Pérez heading to IL with groin injury
Pirates manager Derek Shelton told reporters that Martin Pérez will be placed on the injured list with his groin injury.
Advice: Pérez left Sunday’s start against Atlanta with a left groin injury, and the southpaw will now miss at least a couple of weeks while he’s away from the team. There’s no word yet as to who will take Pérez’s place in the rotation, but Pittsburgh will have to add a new arm to the group over the weekend. Quinn Priester could make sense, as he pitched Sunday and would be on turn for Pérez’s spot.
