    • Plans to make next turn
Gallen (hamstring) expressed optimism Saturday that he will make his next scheduled start, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A day after Gallen was removed from a start, the right-hander said he was "encouraged" by the progress made overnight. His next projected turn comes Wednesday at home against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:02 am

    • Allows one run in no-decision
Perez pitched six innings in a no-decision against the Giants on Saturday, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks over six innings while striking out four.

Advice: Perez was highly-efficient Saturday, retiring 11 of the first 13 batters he faced before eventually surrendering an RBI double to Wilmer Flores in the bottom of the sixth. It marked the veteran lefty's third start this season in which he lasted six or more innings and he's now given up two or fewer runs in four of his six outings overall. On the downside, he's also issued multiple walks in all but one start this season. Rotowire.com Today, 5:18 am
    • Martín Pérez tosses six strong frames Saturday
Martín Pérez was charged with one run over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Pérez struck out four and only issued a pair of walks. He was long gone before this one was decided in extra innings, but turned in yet another solid performance in his Pirates debut. The 33-year-old journeyman southpaw has allowed three earned runs or fewer in five of his six starts to open the season. He’ll bring a solid 2.86 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 27/13 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings (six starts) into a favorable home matchup on Friday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 am
    • Dominates in no-decision
Bibee tossed seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and no walks while striking out nine batters in a no-decision against Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Bibee made a talented Atlanta offense look inept, racking up 16 swinging strikes and allowing just two hits over seven frames. However, he was matched in putting zeroes up on the scoreboard by veteran Charlie Morton, and both hurlers had to settle for a no-decision. This was Bibee's first quality start of the campaign -- before Saturday, he hadn't gone deeper than 5.2 frames in any outing. Through six starts, the right-hander has a 3.45 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB over 31.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 pm
    • Tanner Bibee whiffs nine over seven scoreless
Tanner Bibee held Atlanta scoreless over seven innings with nine strikeouts, but didn’t qualify for a decision in his start Saturday.

Advice: In one of the better pitching duels of the year, Bibbee and Charlie Morton battled zero-for-zero over the first seven frames. Bibbee allowed only two hits while in action, and he didn’t walk anyone while firing 60-of-91 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has struck out 17 batters over his last two starts, and he’s lowered his ERA to 3.45 after a couple of shaky outings in the early portion of the season. Bibee is back in action Friday against a not-so-good Angels’ lineup at home in Cleveland. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:18 pm
    • Sonny Gray strikes out nine in win over Mets
Sonny Gray allowed four runs -- one earned -- with nine strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Gray had worked through four scoreless innings before Brandon Nimmo drove in two on a base hit in the fifth. Pete Alonso followed with a two-run homer to make it four runs in the frame. Though, only one run was charged as an earned run to Gray after an error allowed the leadoff man to reach. The 34-year-old right-hander induced 15 whiffs to strike out nine batters. He’ll take an excellent 1.16 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 32/4 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings into a start against the White Sox in St. Louis on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:34 pm
    • Fans nine in victory
Gray (3-1) picked up the win Saturday versus the Mets, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: The Mets plated four runs during a sloppy fifth inning by the Cardinals which included a Nolan Arenado error. Just one of the runs on Gray's ledgers was earned, however, and he was in total control outside of that frame, facing just three over the minimum. Gray handed out a season-high three free passes in this one, but with the nine punchouts he now has an excellent 32:4 K:BB over his first 23.1 innings with St. Louis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:31 pm
    • Set to rejoin rotation
Manager Brandon Hyde said Saturday that Bradish (elbow) is poised to return to the Orioles' rotation, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Bradish's return can't come soon enough for an Orioles rotation also missing John Means (forearm) and Tyler Wells (elbow). Bradish made three rehab starts while recovering from a right UCL sprain that landed him on the 15-day injured list to begin the season. He pitched well in his last rehab outing with Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six over five frames, and the 27-year-old is ready to make his next start in the majors. He pitched every fifth day during his rehab assignment, so if he stays on that schedule, he could return Wednesday at home against the Yankees. The right-hander could rejoin Baltimore as part of a six-man rotation, with Hyde noting that "everything is up on the table right now." Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:33 am

    • Hyde: Kyle Bradish to make ’24 debut next week
Kyle Bradish (elbow) will make his next start in the majors.

Advice: Orioles manager Brandon Hyde confirmed Saturday that Bradish will return to Baltimore’s starting rotation at some point next week, presumably on Thursday against the division-rival Yankees, after striking out six over five innings on Friday in his final minor league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk. The 27-year-old righty has made a remarkably quick recovery from an offseason UCL sprain in his right elbow and should be rostered in all fantasy formats on the heels of last year’s breakthrough campaign.
