    • Lifts homer in win
Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-0 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Gimenez had gone 0-for-15 with one walk and a stolen base over his previous four games. He snapped the skid with a fourth-inning solo shot, his second homer of the year. The second baseman is at a .242/.307/.342 slash line with 20 RBI, 20 runs scored and five stolen bases through 38 contests. He's remained in the No. 2 spot in the order versus right-handers since Steven Kwan (hamstring) went on the injured list, but the Guardians haven't gotten much hitting from the trio of Estevan Florial, Brayan Rocchio or Tyler Freeman, who had all gotten looks at leadoff in that span. As such, Gimenez's chances to produce RBI will likely be down in the near term. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:35 pm
    • Rebounds with seven scoreless
Verlander (2-1) earned the win after he pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters in Sunday's 9-3 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: Verlander was back to being sharp Sunday, limiting Detroit to just four baserunners while recording a season-high eight punchouts. The 41-year-old was coming off of allowing seven runs over five innings against the Yankees on Tuesday, but he rebounded with his third quality start over five outings in 2024. Verlander now owns a 3.38 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 29.1 innings this season, and his next projected start is set to come Friday at home versus the Brewers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:40 pm
    • Justin Verlander fans eight in taming Tigers
Justin Verlander blanked the Tigers for seven innings and struck out eight in the Astros’ 9-3 victory Sunday.

Advice: Despite never throwing a pitch over 95 mph, Verlander induced eight pop outs and allowed just two hard-hit balls in a masterclass today. It’s the 50th time in his 514 career starts that he’s pitched at least seven innings and gone without allowing a run. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:04 pm
    • Tyler Glasnow won’t start Wednesday vs. Giants
Tyler Glasnow will not start Wednesday’s game against the Giants.

Advice: Yoshinobu Yamamoto will get the ball Monday with Gavin Stone on Tuesday, but the Dodgers will either go with a bullpen game or make a roster move prior to Wednesday’s game rather than have Glasnow start. The Dodgers have given the right-hander at least five days off betweens starts in 2024, and that will continue for the foreseeable future. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:41 am
    • J.T. Realmuto out Sunday with ‘banged up’ knee
J.T. Realmuto is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins while dealing with a knee issue.

Advice: Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters before Sunday’s game that Realmuto showed up to the park with a “banged up” knee, so he decided to give the backstop a day off. Thomson also said that the absence was precautionary, so there’s a good chance Realmuto is back in the coming days. Garrett Stubbs is hitting ninth and catching Sunday. • Nursing knee injury
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins due to a knee injury, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: More specifically, Thomson said Realmuto's knee was "a little banged up" when he reported to the ballpark earlier Sunday, so the Phillies opted to give him the series finale off. The skipper noted that he's not worried about Realmuto, but fantasy managers will still want to verify that the star catcher is back in the starting nine for Monday's game against the Mets before locking him into weekly fantasy lineups. Garrett Stubbs will replace Realmuto behind the plate Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:51 am

    • Sitting in second straight game
Mullins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Mullins is on the bench for the second straight game against a right-handed starting pitcher, with Colton Cowser once again sliding over from left field to cover center field in Mullins' stead. The Orioles haven't indicated that Mullins is dealing with an injury or illness, so the back-to-back days out of the lineup likely indicate that he's at risk of moving into a part-time role, if he hasn't already. Mullins is off to a rough start to the season, having posted a career-low .611 OPS and career-worst 25.2 percent strikeout rate across 131 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:56 am

    • Cedric Mullins out again Sunday against D-Backs
Cedric Mullins is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Mullins is sitting for a second consecutive game against a right-handed pitcher. Colton Cowser is patrolling center field Sunday against Zac Gallen and he’ll hit sixth. Mullins has not been effective thus far in 2024 with a .611 OPS in 37 games, and he’s in danger of losing more playing time in a talented Baltimore outfield. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 am

    • Hurls six shutout innings in win
Paxton (5-0) earned the win over the Padres on Saturday, pitching six shutout innings while allowing four hits and striking out four.

Advice: Paxton never found himself in any serious trouble throughout the contest, allowing only one extra-base hit as the Dodgers cruised to a shutout win. The veteran lefty threw 15 of 22 first pitches for strikes and produced 10 whiffs on the night en route to earning his fifth win of the campaign. Paxton has allowed one run or fewer in back-to-back starts and in four of his seven outings this season. Saturday also marked his first start this season in which he didn't issue a walk.
