    • Dominant in win
Lugo (6-1) allowed one run on five hits while striking out 12 and walking none over eight innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Quality of opponent aside, Lugo was excellent Sunday. He landed 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. It was also his first start without issuing a walk. The right-hander is now at a 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 59.2 innings over nine starts. Lugo's had good moments both as a starter and a reliever in his career, but his start to 2024 is a completely new level for the 34-year-old. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:45 pm

    • Luis Severino surrenders two runs in no-decision
Luis Severino pitched decently in a no-decision against the Braves on Sunday night, allowing two runs on four hits over his five-plus innings of work.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander walked three batters and punched out four on the night. He served up a solo homer to Jarred Kelenic in the second inning, then allowed the first two hitters to reach in the sixth inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen, and one of them ultimately crossed the plate. Severino got 12 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll try to get back in the win column as he totes a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 41/20 K/BB ratio (45 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Marlins in Miami. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm

    • Mookie Betts collects two hits in loss to Padres
Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a double as the Dodgers were shut out by the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: As a team, the Dodgers tallied just four hits in the contest, with Betts accounting for half of them on his own — including their lone extra-base knock. He smacked a one-out double off of Yu Darvish in the sixth inning but was left stranded there. He then singled off of Wandy Peralta with two outs in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old superstar is having another extraordinary season at the dish — slashing .339/.441/.539 with six homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:36 pm

    • Three-run homer in loss
Castellanos went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Castellanos took Miami starter Braxton Garrett deep for a three-run shot in the top of the first inning, giving the Phillies an early 3-0 lead. The long ball was his fourth of the season and second homer in his last three contests. Castellanos has now secured at least one hit in eight consecutive games, batting .322 with two home runs, seven RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base over 31 at-bats during that stretch. • Seth Lugo strikes out 12 in victory over Angels
Seth Lugo delivered a dominant performance in Sunday’s victory over the Angels, racking up a career-high 12 strikeouts over eight innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits on the afternoon and didn’t walk a single batter. The only blemish on his day came in the form of a run-scoring double off the bat of Willie Calhoun in the sixth inning, otherwise he was masterful. Lugo generated a whopping 17 swings and misses on 112 pitches in the ballgame — eight of those on his curveball — while registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. He has been unbelievable for the Royals this season, posting a 6-1 record, 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 48/12 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings in his first nine starts. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he takes on the Athletics at home on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:48 pm

    • Jackson Chourio goes 0-for-2 in return to lineup
After sitting out four straight games, Jackson Chourio went 0-for-2 with a walk in his return to the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Chourio had a nicely hit liner, but it was caught by Brandon Crawford at short. The Brewers could have sent Chourio down last week, but they thought the break to work on things was a better idea. One imagines he’ll have to turn things around over the next 7-10 days in order to avoid a stint in Triple-A. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Giants place Michael Conforto (hamstring) on IL
Giants placed OF Michael Conforto on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger sustained the injury as he was rounding first base during Saturday’s game against the Reds. No word yet on how long exactly he’ll be sidelined for. Luis Matos was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move to provide depth in the Giants’ outfield while Conforto is shelved. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:34 pm

    • Sitting Sunday
D'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Mets.

Advice: D'Arnaud will get a breather Sunday after starting in each of the last four games. He's gone 4-for-18 in May but has registered a hit in each of his last three contests. Chadwick Tromp will start behind the plate and bat ninth against Mets right-hander Luis Severino. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:09 pm

    • Travis d’Arnaud sitting Sunday against Mets
Travis d’Arnaud is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: Instead, Atlanta will start Chadwick Tromp behind the plate while d’Arnaud rests. The 35-year-old backstop was excellent to begin 2024, but he’s struggled thus far in May with a .611 OPS over 18 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:41 pm
