    • Homers, plates three RBI in win
Garver went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Garver extended the Mariners' lead with a two-run blast in the fifth and also got things rolling for the M's with an RBI single in the opening frame. The two hits ended a mini three-game slump for the 33-year-old, though he's still been hitting well in May, slashing .300/.405/.567 with two homers, six RBI and five runs over his last eight games. • Gives up two home runs
Buehler (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two in 3.1 innings.

Advice: The majority of the damage against Buehler came in the opening frame when Fernando Tatis and Jake Cronenworth smoked back-to-back solo home runs. Buehler would later exit with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth and was charged with an additional run. He struggled with his command in another abbreviated start, throwing 45 of 77 pitches for strikes, and generated only five whiffs. Buehler will carry a 7.36 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 6:2 K:BB over 7.1 innings into a meeting with the Reds. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:20 pm
    • Another quality start Sunday
Flaherty (0-3) was tagged with a loss Sunday after he pitched 6.2 innings, surrendering three runs on seven hits while striking out seven batters in a 9-3 defeat to Houston.

Advice: Flaherty opened Sunday's contest by firing five scoreless innings before Kyle Tucker launched a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning. The Astros scratched across another run on him in the seventh frame before the right-hander's day came to an end with two outs in the inning. The performance marked his third straight quality start and sixth of the season over eight outings. Flaherty now owns a 3.88 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 48.2 innings in eight starts in 2024 and will look to earn his first win of the year in his next projected start Saturday on the road in Arizona. • Homers in victory
Tucker went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Tucker took Tigers starter Jack Flaherty deep for a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning, giving Houston a 2-0 lead. The outfielder has now gone deep 13 times this season and five times in his last six contests. Over those six games, he's gone 5-for-20 with five home runs, seven RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:16 pm

    • Walker Buehler gives up three in loss to Padres
Walker Buehler struggled in Sunday afternoon’s loss against the Padres, giving up three runs on five hits over his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: Buehler also issued a pair of walks while striking out two batters on the afternoon. The bulk of the damage done against him came in the opening inning as Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jake Cronenworth crushed back-to-back solo home runs. Buehler then exited with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth inning and was somewhat fortunate that only one of the inherited runners wound up scoring. Buehler got five swings and misses on 77 pitches on the day, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 19 percent. He’ll carry a disappointing 7.36 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 6/2 K/BB ratio (7 1/3 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Reds. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:36 pm
    • Struggles in 2024 debut
Garrett pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Phillies. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Garrett got off to a slow start in his season debut, giving up three runs in the top of the first inning on a homer by Nick Castellanos. He then tossed four scoreless frames before two more runs came around to score while he secured just one out in the top of the sixth frame. The left-hander did impress in the strikeout department though, punching out at least eight batters for the first time since June 22 of the 2023 campaign versus the Pirates. Garrett will look to produce a more well-rounded performance in his next start, which is tentatively set for Saturday at home versus the Mets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:53 pm
    • Jack Flaherty slips to 0-3 after quality start
Jack Flaherty yielded three runs in 6 2/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Still no breaks at all for Flaherty, who is 0-3 in spite of a 3.88 ERA. He really should have given up just two runs today, but Joey Wentz allowed an inherited runner to score from first after coming on with two outs against the bottom of the Astros lineup in the seventh. Flaherty has six quality starts in eight tries this season. Last year, he totaled eight in 27 starts for the Cardinals and Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:03 pm
    • Jazz Chisholm picks up two hits in win over Phillies
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and an RBI in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: Jazz laced a 102 mph double off of Zack Wheeler in the third inning that got a three-run inning started and later tripled off Wheeler in the fourth inning to drive in a run. The Marlins’ leadoff hitter had hits in every game but one this week, going 8-for-23 with a home run, a steal, and two RBI. He also only scored three runs all week despite those stats, so the Marlins’ inconsistent offense is going to impact his fantasy value a bit going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:15 pm

    • Braxton Garrett inconsistent in no decision on SUN
Braxton Garrett allowed five runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday.

Advice: Garrett allowed five hits but six hard-hit baseballs and an average exit velocity of 91.2 mph on the day. He was able to post a 22 percent whiff rate and eight strikeouts on the day, but weirdly was getting most of his swings and misses and called strikes on his sinker. Most of his other pitches were not as effective and he threw the sinker and slider a combined 80 percent of the time. He averaged just 89.7 mph on the sinker today and has an 8.44 ERA since coming off the IL. He’s a risky stream against the Mets next weekend given his subpar stuff this year.
