    • Pablo López strikes out five in win over Rockies
      Pablo López allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Rockies.

      Advice: López wasn’t quite as dominant as fantasy managers might’ve expected considering he was facing a Rockies squad that historically-speaking tends to struggle away from Coors Field. However, he managed to limit Colorado’s lineup to just five hits, including a solo homer by Ryan McMahon, in a much-needed rebound performance after being shelled for seven runs his last time out against the Yankees. He recorded five strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’s been much better from an underlying numbers standpoint than his surface stats would suggest and remains an upper-echelon fantasy starter in the current injury-plagued landscape. He’ll carry an inflated 5.33 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 84/17 K/BB ratio across 76 innings (14 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Rays. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:04 pm

    • Next rehab start set
      Williams (elbow) will make his next rehab start Saturday and is expected to throw about four innings and 65 pitches, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Williams covered three frames during his third rehab outing Sunday and will continue building up his workload this weekend. The right-hander could require another start in the minors after that before joining the Guardians, but he should be ready for his season debut in the majors before the end of June.     • Gavin Williams to make another rehab start Saturday
      Guardians manager Stephen Vogt told reporters Gavin Williams (elbow) will make another minor league rehab start on Saturday.

      Advice: Williams continues to build up his pitch count and stamina as he progresses towards his season debut. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect has been on the shelf since spring training due to a lingering right elbow issue. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:08 pm
       
    • Erick Fedde excels for seven before pen implodes
      Erick Fedde surrendered one run in seven-plus innings Monday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

      Advice: It would have been seven scoreless innings for Fedde had he been pulled then, but Pedro Grifol thought he was the best choice to start the eighth. Grifol then quickly changed his mind after a leadoff homer. Fedde was pulled from a 4-1 game at that point, only to sit and watch as the White Sox bullpen blew the game.     • Michael Kopech blows three-run lead in eighth
      Michael Kopech gave up three runs in the eighth to take a blown save Monday in the loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Look, we’re not totally blaming Pedro Grifol for tonight’s loss, but that stuff like this keeps happening to the White Sox hardly seems like a coincidence. Grifol left his starter in to begin the eighth in a 4-0 game tonight, only to pull him immediately after a leadoff homer. Kopech, the White Sox’s primary closer, then came in with no outs in the eighth and struggled in retiring just two of the eight batters he faced. That made it a tie game going into the ninth, and Jordan Leasure, the top fallback to Kopech, wound up surrendering a walkoff grand slam, of all things. Everything is a disaster with the White Sox now, and while Kopech still offers value for teams desperate for saves, it’s hard to argue for him in shallow leagues, especially with the way Grifol is treating him.     • Let down by bullpen after QS
      Fedde allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Monday.

      Advice: Fedde was brilliant through seven scoreless frames before Dominic Canzone tagged him for a solo homer leading off the eighth. That spelled the end of Fedde's outing, but he departed in line for the victory with a 4-1 lead. However, Michael Kopech entered and gave up three runs, wiping out the advantage and forcing Fedde to settle for a no-decision. Despite the late letdown, this was nice bounce-back for the right-hander after he gave up seven earned runs across 10 innings over his previous two starts. He's in the midst of a career-best campaign with a 3.10 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 77:23 K:BB through 81.1 frames. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:03 pm

      Jordan Romano resumed throwing the last two days and could get back on a mound later this week.

      Advice: Romano, out with elbow inflammation, is eligible to come the IL on Saturday, but there are no plans to activate him then. If everything goes well, he could be back before the end of the month. Rotoworld Monday, 4:04 pm

    • Goes three innings in rehab start
      Williams (elbow) struck out three and allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks over three-plus innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Columbus.

      Advice: The Guardians seem to be building Williams up slowly as he works his way back from right elbow discomfort, an injury that first cropped up late in spring training after the 24-year-old hurt himself in a weighted-ball workout. Though Sunday's outing marked his third rehab outing, Williams was lifted after 50 pitches. He'll presumably need at least two more rehab starts to get stretched out to around 75 pitches, at which point the Guardians might be comfortable bringing him back from the 60-day injured list and inserting him into their rotation.       Romano (elbow) is expected to resume throwing Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

      Advice: The right-hander will throw from flat ground and stretch out to 150 feet before beginning mound work. The Blue Jays are proceeding cautiously with their closer after he received an anti-inflammatory injection June 2, but Romano might still be able to avoid a rehab stint before being activated from the injured list.
