      Rays manager Kevin Cash said Monday that he expects Eflin (back) to remain on the 15-day injured list for 2-to-4 weeks, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

      Advice: Eflin landed on the IL on Monday with a lower-back injury that he felt crop up toward the end of his most recent start Saturday. The right-hander said it feels similar to an injury that cost him two weeks last season.     • Rays place Zach Eflin on IL with back injury
      Rays placed RHP Zach Eflin (lower back inflammation) on the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: Eflin had a shaky start on Saturday, allowing four runs over six innings against the Blue Jays. Perhaps his back was an issue then. The Rays made his IL designation retroactive to Sunday, but he will still miss at least two starts as he recovers. The 30-year-old has a 4.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 44/4 K/BB ratio across 59 innings but it’s unclear who will take his spot in the rotation, but perhaps the Rays will opt to bring Ryan Pepiot back from his leg injury without a rehab assignment.       The Rays placed Eflin on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to May 19, with lower-back inflammation, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

      Advice: Eflin last pitched Saturday in Toronto, allowing four runs over six innings. It's not clear whether he developed the injury during that outing or another time, but either way he will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks.     • Takes another loss on homer
      Duran (0-2) took the loss Sunday against the Guardians, giving up a game-ending home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. He allowed three runs on one hit and two walks with no strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning.

      Advice: It was the second home run that Duran allowed in the late innings in a tied game in the three-game series during which the Twins were swept. Duran hadn't walked a batter in eight innings before Sunday, so this is probably a minor setback. The bigger worry for fantasy managers is that he's been used in the eighth inning against the heart of the opposing team's order several times since his return from the injured list, ceding the save chance to another arm (usually Griffin Jax) in the bullpen.       Nola (6-2) picked up the win Sunday against the Nationals, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks across seven innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Nola completed at least seven innings for the fifth time in his last seven starts -- including a complete game shutout in his last appearance. Although the 31-year-old generated a quality start, he struggled with the long ball, as he allowed a two-run homer to Eddie Rosario in the fourth and a solo home run to Jesse Winker in the fifth.       Keller (5-3) allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings to earn the win Sunday over the Cubs.

      Advice: It wasn't as dominant an outing as his six scoreless innings versus the Brewers on Monday, but it was still Keller's third straight quality start. He's allowed three runs over 21 innings across three starts in May. The strong pitching has him down to a 3.84 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and 54:19 K:BB through 61 innings over 10 starts this season.     • Aaron Nola goes seven in victory over Nationals
      Aaron Nola lasted seven innings and allowed three runs Sunday in beating the Nationals.

      Advice: A strong follow-up to his shutout of the Mets, Nola gave up just two hits, which were homers to Eddie Rosario and Jesse Winker. He’s completed seven innings in five of his last seven starts, and he’s 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA for the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:20 pm
       
    • Mitch Keller posts quality start in win over Cubs
      Mitch Keller posted a quality start in Sunday’s victory over the Cubs, allowing two runs on just two hits over six frames.

      Advice: The right-hander walked three and struck out three batters on the afternoon. All of the damage one against him came on sacrifice flies — one by Seiya Suzuki in the third inning and another off the bat of Christopher Morel in the sixth. Keller got 10 swings and misses on 83 pitches on the afternoon — seven of those on his heater — while registering a CSW of 30 percent. Now 5-3 on the season, he’ll tote a 3.84 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 54/19 K/BB ratio (61 innings) into Saturday’s tough matchup against the Braves. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:07 pm
       
    • Jhoan Duran takes loss against Guardians
      Jhoan Duran allowed a walk-off, three-run homer to Will Brennan on Sunday. He also walked two.

      Advice: Duran administered free passes to Andrés Giménez and Josh Naylor before Will Brennan barely cleared the right field fence to win the game. That one home run ballooned Duran’s ERA from 1.13 to 4.15. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:16 pm
