    • Carlos Correa doubles twice in win over Mariners
Carlos Correa doubled twice with an RBI in a win over the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Correa got the Twins on the board with an RBI double in the fifth inning. The shortstop also doubled in the seventh and scored the go-ahead run a couple batters later. Correa has doubled four times and is slashing .279/.392/.393 in his limited sample. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:53 pm
    • Gets stitches removed
Alvarez had the stitches removed Monday from his surgically repaired left thumb, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Alvarez underwent surgery April 23 to address a torn UCL in the thumb on his glove hand. At the time his surgery was performed, the Mets estimated that Alvarez would need eight weeks to make a full recovery, so he appears unlikely to return from the injured list until around late June. A more precise target date for his return should come into focus once he resumes taking batting practice and performing defensive drills. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:56 pm
    • Francisco Alvarez has stitches removed from thumb
Francisco Alvarez had the stitches from his surgically repaired left thumb removed Monday.

Advice: Alvarez is currently with the Mets to take part in the pitcher/catcher meetings according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. The backstop is two weeks into what is expected to be a two-month rehab after undergoing surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb. If all continues to trend well, Alvarez could be back with the Mets around the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:50 pm
    • Issues six walks
Severino didn't factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on four hits with six walks across five innings against the Rays. He struck out six.

Advice: Despite yielding just four hits, Severino gave up a season-high four earned runs Sunday. His struggles stemmed from a lack of command, as he doled out out a career-high six walks, with two of those batters coming around to score. Still, Severino's ERA sits at 2.93 through 40 innings. He's lined up for a start Saturday against Atlanta, which is a tough matchup for a bounce-back. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:53 pm

    • Drives in three
Soto went 1-for-4 with three RBI during Sunday's 5-2 win over the Tigers. He struck out twice.

Advice: Soto had a rough go of it against Detroit starter Tarik Skubal, striking out twice against the tough lefty. However, Soto fared much better against southpaw reliever Andrew Chafin, clearing the bases with a seventh inning double to break a 2-2 tie and provide the winning runs for the Yankees. Soto's average stands at .316 with a .980 OPS, including eight homers, 28 RBI, 23 runs and four steals over 136 at-bats during his first season in the Bronx. The RBI were his first over five games in May. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:49 pm

    • Strikes out nine in quality start
Cortes did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over 6.1 innings against the Tigers. He struck out nine.

Advice: Cortes matched a season high with nine strikeouts, as he allowed only four baserunners in the contest. Cortes shut out the Tigers through six but was pulled with one out in the seventh after allowing two base hits in the inning. Both runners eventually came around to score, tying the game and ending Cortes' bid to earn his second win. It was the fourth quality start in eight games for Cortes, who lowered his ERA to 3.72 with a 1.03 WHIP and 46 strikeouts through 48.1 innings. His next start is tentatively scheduled to take place next weekend when the Yankees travel to Tampa for a division showdown against the Rays. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:25 pm

    • Luis Severino walks career-high six versus Rays
Luis Severino was charged with four runs in five innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Rays.

Advice: Severino’s velocity was down a little today and he walked a career-high six batters, which is a little scary. He had never even walked five in a start previously. He’s not one of the Mets pitchers that typically has issues with the stolen base — he had allowed just one in his first six starts this season — but the Rays swiped three bases while he was in the game and seven in eight tries overall today. It’s the most runs he’s allowed since he was roughed up in his Mets debut on March 30. He’ll get the Braves next, so sitting him in mixed leagues seems like a good idea. • Juan Soto propels Yankees past Tigers on Sunday
Juan Soto delivered a go-ahead three-run double in the seventh inning on Sunday, propelling the Yankees to a 5-2 victory over the Tigers in the Bronx.

Advice: The Tigers came back with a pair of runs to tie the game in the top half of the seventh inning, but the Yankees’ bats went right back to work in the home half of the frame. They loaded the bases against Shelby Miller with a single and a pair of walks, then Soto greeted Andrew Chafin with a three-run double into right field to put the Bombers back on top to stay. The 25-year-old superstar finished the day 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts and is now hitting .316/.421/.559 with eight homers, 28 RBI and four stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:05 pm

    • Nestor Cortes fans nine in no-decision on Sunday
Nestor Cortes looked sharp in a no-decision against the Tigers on Sunday, giving up two runs on just three hits over 6 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The crafty 29-year-old southpaw piled up nine strikeouts on a rainy afternoon in the Bronx while allowing just one base on balls. He kept the Tigers off the board completely through the first six innings, but he allowed a pair of singles before departing in the seventh — and both runners came around to score against the Yankees’ bullpen. Cortes got 13 whiffs on 97 pitches on the day, registering a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll attempt to get back in the win column as he carries a 3.72 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 46/8 K/BB ratio (48 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Rays in Tampa Bay. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:05 pm
