    • Craig Kimbrel nabs 13th save
Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning in a win over the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Kimbrel’s fantastic season continued Friday with an overpowering ninth inning. The save tied him with Raisel Iglesias for the sixth-most in the league as he’s turned black the clock so far this year. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
    • Albert Suárez strikes out five in five innings
Albert Suárez allowed one earned run across five innings on Friday against the Rays. He allowed four hits, two walks, and struck out five in a no-decision.

Advice: Suárez was solid in this one, keeping the Rays at bay besides for a Richie Palacios double followed by a Ben Rortvedt RBI single in the second inning. Notably, Suárez showed off a true four-pitch mix for the first time this season throwing his fastball, cutter, changeup, and curveball at least 13% of the time. There is space in the Orioles’ rotation and Suárez successfully expanding his repertoire could help him hold a spot. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

    • Reynaldo López holds A’s to one run in victory
Reynaldo López limited the A’s to one run in six innings and struck out eight in Atlanta’s 4-2 victory Friday.

Advice: Another quality start moves him to 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA. That López has had a very light schedule has played some role in his success to date. His 10 starts have seen him face none of the league’s top five offenses by OPS yet each of the bottom four (the Mariners, Pirates, Marlins and White Sox). He’s certainly been good and he might continue to be until he starts to run out of gas, but he’s had it awfully easy thus far. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Raisel Iglesias earns 14th save against A’s
Raisel Iglesias picked up his 14th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the A’s.

Advice: Zack Gelof doubled to start the inning and came around to score on a pair of groundouts. Fortunately, Iglesias was working with a three-run lead, so this one was never really in doubt. He’s 14-for-16 saving games this season. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
    • Matt Bowman elects to explore free agent market
Matt Bowman has elected free agency.

Advice: The 33-year-old hurler was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks earlier in the week, but rather than accepting his outright assignment to Triple-A Reno, he has opted to explore the open market. Bowman has posted a 5.02 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 10/6 K/BB ratio over 14 1/3 innings between the Twins and Diamondbacks this season. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Sixto Sánchez lifted with lead in fifth
Sixto Sánchez yielded two runs in four-plus innings Friday in a no-decision against the Rangers.

Advice: Sánchez, who went without a strikeout tonight, was pulled with a 4-1 lead after giving up a double and a single to start the fifth. Declan Cronin took over then and did a nice job in allowing only one of the runners to score. Sánchez has completed five innings just once seven starts for the Marlins, and he’s still looking for the first victory of his comeback. His ERA stands at 6.06. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

    • José Ureña pulled in third in loss to Marlins
José Ureña lasted just 2 1/3 innings and gave up four runs — two earned — in Friday’s loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Ureña’s original organization treated him badly tonight, with Nick Gordon hitting a two-run homer off him. Ureña has been decent in his rotation stint for the Rangers, but it’d certainly be best if the team was able to stick him into a middle-relief role in the not-too-distant future. • Jeff Hoffman slams door on Cardinals on Friday
Jeff Hoffman slammed the door on the Cardinals in the ninth inning on Friday night, protecting a two-run lead to earn his fifth save of the season.

Advice: The 31-year-old hurler came on with a two-run advantage to protect against the heart of the Cardinals’ lineup. He made it look easy, getting Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Gorman on swinging third strikes before retiring Nolan Arenado on a fly ball to right to end it. Hoffman has been outstanding out of the Phillies’ bullpen this season, posting a 1.09 ERA and a 32/7 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings of work. Rotoworld Today, 5:58 pm

    • Back from IL
The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately retain his spot as the Dodgers' closer -- a role he thrived in prior to getting injured, giving up just one earned run in 13.2 frames while collecting eight saves. Elieser Hernandez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 4:20 pm
