    • Edward Cabrera fans seven in Triple-A rehab start
      Edward Cabrera (shoulder) struck out seven over four hitless innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville.

      Advice: Cabrera issued two walks and threw 37 of 60 pitches for strikes in his latest rehab outings. The 26-year-old righty, who has been out since early May recovering from a right shoulder impingement, appears to be getting closer to returning to Miami’s injury-depleted starting rotation.     • Cole Irvin hit hard Tuesday in loss to Guardians
      Cole Irvin was lit up for eight runs (four earned) over four innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Irvin was torched for 10 hits, including a three-run homer by José Ramírez in the fourth inning prior to his early exit. He notched only one strikeout and didn’t issue a walk. He’ll face the Rangers on Sunday his next time out. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:26 pm

    • Fans 11 in victory
      Ragans (5-5) earned the win over Miami on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 batters over six innings.

      Advice: Ragans racked up 27 swings-and-misses -- the most by any pitcher in baseball this season -- en route to his first win since May 22. Despite the five-game stretch of starts without a victory, the southpaw has been pitching well, as he posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB during the drought. Ragans' 11 punchouts Monday were his second-most this season, and he ranks third in MLB with 120 strikeouts on the campaign. He is also tied for third in the majors with 12 quality starts.     • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
      Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

      Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • Yields five runs in loss
      King (5-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Brewers.

      Advice: King had given up a total of five runs across his previous five outings, but he had just one win in that span despite a 34:9 K:BB over 26.2 innings. He wasn't as good Sunday, as the Brewers pieced together a two-out rally in the second inning that accounted for four of the five runs on his line. King is now at a 3.75 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and 109:38 K:BB through 93.2 innings over 17 appearances (16 starts) this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at Boston.     • Michael King tagged for five runs in loss Sunday
      Michael King struggled in a losing effort against the Brewers on Sunday afternoon, giving up five runs on nine hits over his six innings of work.

      Advice: King helped to salvage his day, at least from a fantasy perspective, by racking up eight strikeouts and issuing just one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came in the second inning, as the Brewers strung together five singles and a triple to push five runs across. He settled in nicely after that and finished his day with four scoreless frames, but it was too late at that point. King got 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 31 percent.       The Marlins transferred Cabrera (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

      Advice: Cabrera landed on the IL on May 8 with a right shoulder impingement and looked to be on the cusp of a return after making a three-inning rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday. However, given the Marlins' decision to move him to the 60-day IL -- which now leaves him ineligible for activation for another two weeks -- it's possible that Cabrera hit a snag in his rehab start, or the organization is deliberately aiming to slow down his return. According to Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com, Cabrera had been scheduled to make his second rehab start with Jacksonville on Tuesday and was expected to cover four innings or 60 pitches, but it's unclear if his move to the 60-day IL means that those plans have changed.       Kirby came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Marlins, allowing two runs on five hits over seven innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

      Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander reeled off his third straight quality start and ninth of the season on an efficient 85 pitches (60 strikes), but Kirby was denied his seventh win of the year when the Seattle offense went cold after the second inning.
