    • Alec Bohm delivers decisive two-run double
Alec Bohm went 3-for-5 with double and two RBI on Friday in the Phillies’ dramatic 5-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Bohm’s eleventh inning double put a stamp on what was maybe the game of the year so far with the Orioles and Phillies going back and forth all night with a long rain delay in between. It was his third hit of the night and second batted ball over 100 MPH. He continues to be a force in the middle of the Phillies’ lineup. Rotoworld Friday, 8:53 pm

    • Sitting Thursday
Bohm isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Thursday's game against Boston.

Advice: Bohm will get a breather Thursday after going 3-for-19 with two RBI in his last five games, allowing Whit Merrifield to start at the hot corner while batting seventh. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:06 pm

    • Mulling season-ending wrist surgery
Reds manager David Bell revealed Tuesday that Encarnacion-Strand is considering season-ending surgery to repair ligament damage in his right wrist, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand initially went on the 10-day injured list in early May with a fracture in the wrist, but subsequent testing has apparently shown ligament damage. If the infielder opts against surgery, it's not clear how much longer he might be sidelined. Encarnacion-Strand slashed only .190/.220/.293 with two home runs in 29 games before getting hurt. • Bell: CES weighing season-ending hand surgery
Reds manager David Bell told reporters Tuesday that Christian Encarnacion-Strand has ligament damage in his right hand and is considering season-ending surgery.

Advice: Ugh. Not great. Encarnacion-Strand has been brought along slowly in his recovery from last month’s right hand fracture and was only recently cleared to resume baseball activities. The 24-year-old slugger has yet to be cleared to resume swinging a bat and it sounds like season-ending surgery hasn’t been ruled out as a potential option to address the ligament damage in his hand. Obviously his long-term health is the greater concern here, but it’s a tough loss for Cinciannti, and fantasy managers, if he’s not coming back this season. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:42 pm
    • Jake Cronenworth hits 10th homer in Padres’ win
Jake Cronenworth homered, doubled and scored twice as the Padres topped the A’s 6-1 on Monday.

Advice: Cronenworth has two homers in three games after going his previous 19 games without one. His exit velocity numbers have trended downwards after a surprisingly hot start in April, but he’s still performing better than his decline the previous two seasons indicated he would; he’s back up to .267/.331/.463 after tonight. He has as many homers (10) in 288 plate appearances this year that he did in 522 last season. Rotoworld Monday, 11:31 pm

    • Swats homer in victory
Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs against Oakland in Monday's 6-1 win.

Advice: Cronenworth put San Diego's first run on the board with a solo homer in the third inning, and he scored again after getting hit by a pitch in the seventh. The second baseman also doubled in the contest, resulting in his first game with multiple extra-base hits since May 3. Cronenworth has put together a modest five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 8-for-19 with two homers, two doubles, six RBI and four runs. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:51 pm

    • Receives second opinion
Cincinnati manager David Bell said Saturday that Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) visited a specialist, who advised five days of additional rest, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand had met with team doctors June 5 and was given the green light to take the next step in his rehab progression, but the injured first baseman opted for a second opinion. Bell is hopeful Encarnacion-Strand can resume his progression following the current rest period and begin swinging a bat "in the next couple of weeks." This development pushes out a potential return at least another two weeks. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:59 am
    • Jake Cronenworth drives home four vs. D-Backs
Jake Cronenworth drove in four runs while homering in a 13-1 rout of the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Cronenworth annihilated a Logan Allen pitch in the fourth inning to extend the Padres’ lead to 7-0. The infielder also singled home a run an inning later to give him his fourth RBI of the game and 44th of the season. Cronenworth has scuffled at the plate as of late, but the metrics suggest he’s due for more games like this over the summer. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:09 pm

    • Ends power drought
Cronenworth went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, an RBI single and an additional run scored in Saturday's 13-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Cronenworth's fourth-inning blast turned the game into a rout, and he tacked on one more RBI in the fifth. The infielder has hit well lately, going 10-for-38 (.263) with nine RBI and four extra-base hits over his last nine games, though his homer Saturday was his first since May 19. On the year, he's slashing .261/.322/.446 with nine homers, 44 RBI, 27 runs scored, 15 doubles, two triples and one stolen base over 64 contests. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:39 pm
