    • Gets Wednesday off
O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: O'Hoppe will get the afternoon off after he had started behind the plate each of the past three games. Matt Thaiss will handle catching duties for the Angels in the series finale. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:40 pm
    • Resumes catching work
Murphy (oblique) was able to catch bullpen sessions Tuesday and Wednesday but has yet to resume swinging a bat, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Murphy's ability to throw at full strength while donning his full catching equipment represents a positive step forward in his recovery from a Grade 1 left oblique strain, but until he starts swinging the bat again, his return from the 10-day injured list shouldn't be viewed as imminent. The backstop has been on the shelf since March 30 with the injury. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:35 pm

    • Pushes average back up to .318
O'Hoppe went 3-for-4 with a run in Monday's loss to Baltimore.

Advice: O'Hoppe batted out of the No. 7 slot in the lineup and accounted for one of the team's two runs and for three of the team's eight hits. The backstop notched his fifth multi-hit game of the season and got his season batting average back up to .318 after a recent 2-for-18 skid. O'Hoppe also has two homers, seven RBI and eight runs over 74 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:00 pm
    • Logan O’Hoppe goes 3-for-4 in loss to Angels
Logan O’Hoppe went 3-for-4 against the Orioles on Monday to raise his average to .318.

Advice: Angels manager Ron Washington actually had O’Hoppe hit cleanup once last week, but the catcher has been listed at sixth, eighth and seventh in the three games since. There’s good reason to think O’Hoppe will remain one of the Angels’ better hitters, but the lineup placement is holding him back, especially given how poorly the rest of the bottom of the order has hit.
