    • George Springer (illness) out again on Tuesday
George Springer (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Orioles.

Advice: Springer is sitting out for the second straight contest and fourth time in the last five contests due to an ongoing viral illness. It’ll be on-base machine Davis Schneider, who also boasts the fifth-best barrel percentage in baseball this season, taking over the leadoff spot in his continued absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:18 pm
    • Sitting again Tuesday
Springer (illness) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Baltimore.

Advice: Springer returned to action Sunday after missing two games with an illness, and he's out of the lineup again Tuesday for the second straight day. It's unclear if he's expected to be back in action for Wednesday's series finale. Cavan Biggio is starting in right field versus the Orioles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:15 pm
    • On bench Tuesday
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The left-handed Carpenter will avoid a matchup with southpaw Ryan Weathers on Tuesday, as Wenceel Perez, Matt Vierling and Mark Canha will start across the outfield. Carpenter has hit safely in five straight games, batting 7-for-18 (.389) with two homers and five runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:05 pm
    • Could return Friday
Rengifo (illness) fielded grounders Monday and could return from the injured list when eligible Friday, per MLB.com.

Advice: Rengifo came down with a viral infection in early May and landed on the IL when the illness caused painful blisters on his feet. His ability to take grounders Monday is a good indication that he's doing better, and there's a chance he could spend the minimum amount of time on the injured list. Upon his return, Rengifo should slide back into a starting role at third base -- Niko Goodrum, Luis Guillorme and Cole Tucker have been filling in at the hot corner in his stead. • Bryson Stott stays hot, Phillies edge Mets
Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, powering the Phillies to a 5-4 win over the Mets in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Stott delivered late for Philadelphia, taking Mets stopper Edwin Díaz deep to lead off the ninth inning before tacking on a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ensuing frame to put the Phillies ahead for good in a back-and-forth slugfest at Citi Field. The 26-year-old infielder has been on an absolute heater of late, batting .433 (13-for-30) with one homer and five steals in nine contests since the start of May, which obviously doesn’t include a two-homer explosion back on April 28. • Still feeling ill
Manager John Schneider said Monday that Springer is out of the lineup for the Blue Jays' series opener in Baltimore because he's still feeling sick, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: After sitting out Friday and Saturday due to the ailment, Springer returned to the lineup for Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Twins and played nine innings in right field while going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Despite playing a full game, Springer apparently hasn't completely shaken the illness, so he'll be back on the bench Monday. A bug seems to be making its way around the clubhouse, as Kevin Kiermaier and Justin Turner are out of the lineup for the fourth and second consecutive games, respectively, due to illnesses of their own. • George Springer again sidelined by illness
George Springer, who missed games Friday and Saturday before going 0-for-4 on Sunday, is again sidelined due to illness on Monday.

Advice: It seems he, Justin Turner and Kevin Kiermaier all have the same thing. Cavan Biggio is playing right field in his place. Rotoworld Monday, 1:59 pm
    • Taking seat Monday
Springer is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Springer made his return from a two-game absence due to an illness in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Twins, starting in right field and playing all nine innings while going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. The Blue Jays haven't indicated that Springer is still feeling under the weather, so his absence Monday is likely just a pre-planned maintenance day as he works his way back to full strength following the bout with the illness. Cavan Biggio will replace Springer in right field. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:34 pm
    • Snaps skid with homer
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Brewers.

Advice: Goldschmidt needed Sunday's performance in a big way; he entered the contest riding a 1-for-32 skid. He finally snapped out of it with a solo homer in the fifth inning, followed by a game-tying RBI single in the sixth. However, he also struck out twice, giving him an uncharacteristic 2:15 BB:K over his last eight games. On the year, Goldschmidt is now slashing .197/.280/.279 with six extra-base hits and 13 RBI through 38 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:07 pm
