    • Getting day off against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Lux is one of three lefty-hitting regulars along with Max Muncy and James Outman who will hit the bench while southpaw Max Fried takes the hill for Atlanta. Miguel Rojas will fill in for Lux at second base. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Nick Pivetta (elbow) expected to start Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Nick Pivetta (elbow) is expected to come off the injured list to start Wednesday against Atlanta.

Advice: That’s a tough return, but it’s also welcome news for fantasy managers who are waiting for Pivetta to come off the shelf. The right-hander was able to throw 62 pitches in his rehab start Thursday for Triple-A Worcester, so he should be stretched out for five-plus innings in that outing. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

    • Looks set to return Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Pivetta (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Cora stopped short of confirming Pivetta for Wednesday, as the right-hander presumably needs to check out fine following a bullpen session Sunday or Monday before the Red Sox formally clear him to rejoin the rotation. Pivetta, who has been on the shelf since April 9 with a right elbow flexor strain, made a rehab start with Triple-A Worcester on Thursday and gave up four earned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five across three innings. Despite the less-than-stellar results, the Red Sox were apparently encouraged by how Pivetta felt physically in the outing and are eager to bring him back into the big-league rotation this week. • On bench Sunday
Velazquez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Rangers.

Advice: Velazquez went 1-for-4 with a double and a run Saturday but still has just two hits over his past 11 games. Salvador Perez is resting his legs at designated hitter Sunday while Freddy Fermin starts behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 9:59 am
    • Faces hitters in live session
Senga (shoulder) completed a 32-pitch live batting practice session Saturday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Facing hitters in extended live BP session marks a major milestone in Senga's recovery from a right posterior shoulder capsule strain, which caused him to miss most of spring training and resulted in him opening the season on the 15-day injured list before he was shifted to the 60-day IL on April 10. He won't be eligible to make his season debut until May 27, but Senga appears on target to return on or around that date based on where he currently stands in his recovery. The Mets will see how he bounces back from Saturday's throwing session over the next couple of days before deciding whether he's ready to report to a minor-league affiliate to begin a rehab assignment, or if he'll need to throw another live BP before doing so. • Senga (shoulder) throws 32 pitches in live BP
Kodai Senga (shoulder) threw 32 pitches in his live bullpen session Saturday.

Advice: Senga has now faced live hitters twice this week. The Mets will now determine the next steps for the right-hander in the coming days, as they want to see how he responds before deciding when he’ll begin a rehab assignment. There’s a very good chance he does begin that assignment at this point, however, and he’s on track to make his return around May 27 — the earliest Senga can be activated off the 60-day IL. • Nelson Velazquez out of action Sunday vs. Rangers
Nelson Velazquez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Rangers.

Advice: Velazquez has not found much success in 2024 with an OPS of just .635 over 92 at-bats, and he’ll retreat to the bench against right-hander Jon Grey on Sunday. Salvador Perez will lineup at designated hitter while hitting in his usual fourth spot in the lineup while Freddy Fermin gets the start behind the plate. Rotoworld Today, 8:08 am
    • Hitless in return
Siri (thigh) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during Saturday's 3-1 win against the Mets.

Advice: The 28-year-old was unavailable the previous two games while serving a suspension but was back in center field Saturday for the Rays. The thigh injury Siri suffered on a hit-by-pitch Tuesday also no longer seems to be a concern. He's back in center field for Sunday's series finale, batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 am
    • Swats seventh homer
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Astros.

Advice: Raleigh sent Houston starter Framber Valdez to the showers with a two-run blast in the sixth inning. The homer was a much-needed positive outcome for the backstop, as he entered the contest having gone 1-for-26 with 13 strikeouts over his previous eight games. Raleigh's .210/.292/.420 season slash line isn't great, but he is tied for second among MLB catchers with seven homers while adding 15 RBI and 13 runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:40 pm
