      Tanner Houck dropped to 3-3 after allowing four runs in six innings Friday against the Twins.

      Advice: Houck gave up just one run through six frames before stumbling in the seventh. He allowed three straight runners to reach base without recording an out and was eventually charged with all three runs. He matched his season high with four runs allowed; in his other five starts this year, Houck has given up just three total runs through 33.2 innings. On top of that, he tied his season low by generating only six swinging strikes. Houck will carry a 2.18 ERA into his next outing, which is lined up to be at home against the Nationals next week.       Murphy (oblique) began hitting off the tee during Atlanta's most recent series against Seattle earlier this week, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

      Advice: It's the first time Murphy has swung the bat since landing on the 10-day IL on March 30 with a Grade 1 left oblique strain. Prior to the series in Seattle, Murphy was limited to light throwing and catching work in the bullpen.       Advice: It’s a small step, but it’s at least a step in the right direction for the hard-hitting backstop.       Advice: Saturday will mark the first time Whitlock has thrown off a mound since landing on the injured list April 17 with a strained left oblique. Assuming all goes well, he will likely throw another few sessions before moving onto throwing against live hitters, at which point the Red Sox may decide to send the right-hander out on a rehab assignment.       The Phillies are considering piggybacking Turnbull with another starter, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

      Advice: Turnbull's stint in the Phillies' rotation was supposed to be temporary while Taijuan Walker (shoulder) worked his way back. However, Turnbull has pitched so well -- posting a 1.67 ERA and 36:10 K:BB in 32.1 innings -- that the club is considering ways to keep him in its rotation even with Walker back in the fold. A six-man rotation hasn't been ruled out, although manager Rob Thomson has indicated it's unlikely. More likely, it seems, is that Turnbull and another starter -- either Walker or Cristopher Sanchez -- are used in tandem, with the decision on who would start and who would be in long relief that day depending on the opposition. Turnbull could still eventually shift to the bullpen -- he hasn't thrown more than 56.2 innings in a season since 2019 -- but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen yet.       Lindor (illness) went 2-for-3 with a pair of two-run doubles and a run scored in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Cubs.

      Advice: Lindor was held out of the lineup Thursday after departing Wednesday's contest with an illness. However, he'd come off the bench as a pinch hitter for Joey Wendle in the sixth inning, pulling a two-run double to cut the Mets' deficit to 5-4. Lindor would then deliver his biggest hit so far this season in the 11th, doubling down the left-field line to drive in two more and give New York a 7-6 walk-off victory. Lindor's struggles early this year have been well documented, though he's starting to show signs of turning things around at the plate -- the 30-year-old shortstop's gone 9-for-29 with three doubles and three home runs in his last eight contests. Lindor's now slashing .207/.287/.380 through 136 plate appearances with five home runs, 17 runs scored, 15 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:21 pm

      Francisco Lindor drove in four runs off the bench including a game-winning two-run double in the 10th to give the Mets a 7-6 win over the Cubs on Thursday.

      Advice: Lindor didn’t start Thursday’s game, but he finished it literally and figuratively. The shortstop doubled home a pair of runs in the sixth, and in the 10th, he turned a 6-5 deficit into a 7-6 victory when he plated a pair with a two-bagger in the 10th to give the Mets the win. It’s one of the best games of the season for Lindor, as even with the strong outing he’s slashing a disappointing .207/.287/.380 in the first month-plus.
