      Corey Seager hit a three-run homer in the eighth to lead the Rangers past the A’s 4-2 on Monday.

      Advice: The Rangers were still scoreless until Seager took Lucas Erceg deep in the eighth. They then added an insurance run in the ninth. The homer was Seager’s third in 33 games this season.     • Turns tide with three-run homer
      Seager went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Monday in a 4-2 victory against Oakland.

      Advice: Texas was down 2-0 heading into the eighth frame before Seager turned the team's fortunes around with a two-out, three-run blast to center field. It was a much-needed big moment for the star shortstop, as he came into the contest batting just .190 in May and .228 overall on the season. After slugging 33 homers and driving in 96 runs last year, Seager has just three homers and 13 RBI through 33 games in 2024.       Duran struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning and earned a hold during Monday's win over Seattle.

      Advice: Duran was called upon to face the Mariners' 9-1-2 hitters in a 3-1 contest. After earning a save in each of his first two appearances of 2024, he's picked up a hold in his last two games. Duran is the primary closing option in Minnesota but it appears there may be more of a committee than expected. Last season, he converted 27 of 32 saves and picked up only one hold.       Hader (1-3) allowed a solo home run and struck out one to take the loss Sunday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Hader entered the game in the ninth inning with the score tied 4-4. He retired the first batter he faced but then served up the go-ahead homer to Cal Raleigh. Hader had turned in three consecutive appearances without giving up an earned run prior to Sunday, though he's now been charged with at least one run in six of his 15 appearances.       Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

      Advice: Heim knotted the game at two runs apiece with a ninth-inning home run that set the stage for Nathaniel Lowe's game-winning single in the 10th. For Heim, it was his fourth homer and first in 12 games.       Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

      Advice: Westburg did his damage early, lifting a two-run blast in the first inning. He had gone 0-for-7 over the first two games of the weekend series in Cincinnati. The homer was his first since April 21 and his sixth of the year.     • Handed first loss
      Lodolo (3-1) yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore.

      Advice: Lodolo got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He held the Orioles in check afterward until Adley Rutschman knocked an RBI double in the fifth. Lodolo had allowed just five runs over 24 innings to begin his 2024 campaign before Sunday's hiccup. Despite the poor outing, he owns a 2.79 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB through five starts.       Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam during Sunday's 11-8 loss to the Nationals.

      Advice: Guerrero's grand slam in the second inning off MacKenzie Gore was his fourth of the season and first in 22 games. It was also the first time he homered this season with men on base as he had collected just 11 RBI and hit just .231 coming into the contest. Despite the power outage, Guerrero is currently in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, batting 11-for-32 (.344) with three doubles, a homer, five RBI and three runs scored during that stretch.       Jordan Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Westburg jumped on Nick Lodolo in the first inning with a 378-foot home run that left the bat at 101.9 mph. It was Westburg’s sixth home run of the season to go along with 23 RBIs. It’s been a breakout month for the 25-year-old, but he’s seen his triple slash fall to .286/.336/.513 after going 6-for-28 over his last seven games. The quality of contact gains are real but Westburg is swinging and missing a lot more this season, so the batting average may continue to slip a little bit in the coming weeks.
