  • Jordan Westburg homers in win over Reds
Jordan Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Westburg jumped on Nick Lodolo in the first inning with a 378-foot home run that left the bat at 101.9 mph. It was Westburg’s sixth home run of the season to go along with 23 RBIs. It’s been a breakout month for the 25-year-old, but he’s seen his triple slash fall to .286/.336/.513 after going 6-for-28 over his last seven games. The quality of contact gains are real but Westburg is swinging and missing a lot more this season, so the batting average may continue to slip a little bit in the coming weeks. • Homers, swipes bag in four-hit day
Garcia went 4-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and a steal during Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Garcia's third homer was a solo shot in the third and represented the second of his four hits on the day with three of those hits producing runs. It was the culmination of a big weekend for Garcia, who went 7-for-9 with two walks, two homers, eight RBI and four runs and a steal during the three-game set, raising his average to .337 in the process. • Runs wild against Mets
Caballero went 0-for-2 with three walks, three runs scored and four stolen bases during Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets.

Advice: Despite not tallying a hit, Caballero was all over the basepath, reaching thrice via walk and becoming the third player since 2020 to accumulate four steals in a game. One of those swipes came in the 10th inning when he stole third after starting the inning as the designated runner then scored on a walk-off triple by Jonny DeLuca. Caballero ranks third in MLB with 13 steals this season and holds a .317 on-base percentage. Rotowire.com Today, 5:06 pm
  • Nick Gordon has four hits, HR in win over A’s
Nick Gordon went 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in a 12-3 win over the A’s on Sunday.

Advice: Gordon got the party started with a 406-foot home run off Joe Boyle in the first inning that was 104.7 mph off the bat and drove in three runs. He added two more singles and a double, all of which were hit at least 98 mph. The 28-year-old has started four of the last six games but is slashing just .207/.241/.390 on the season with four home runs and 15 RBI. He should be left on the wire outside of the deepest formats. • Adam Frazier goes 0-for-3 against Rangers
Adam Frazier went 0-for-3 before being removed for defense Sunday against the Rangers.

Advice: Frazier got the nod in right field today even though he came in with a .176/.300/.206 line in 80 plate appearances. That’s really the problem with signing an Adam Frazier. He’s not this bad, but he’s also very unlikely to be very good and managers just love forcing him into the lineup. Since the beginning of 2022, he has 1,140 plate appearances with a .234 average, a .300 OBP and a .337 slugging percentage. Rotoworld Today, 4:56 pm

  • Luis García Jr. goes 4-for-4, homers in victory
Before being lifted for a pinch-hitter, Luis García Jr. went 4-for-4 with a homer and a walk Sunday as the Nationals topped the Blue Jays 11-8.

Advice: Only Dave Martinez, man. It wasn’t even because there was a lefty in that García was pulled. Instead, Martinez brought in Ildemaro Vargas to lay down a bunt in Garcia’s place with a 10-8 lead in the eighth. Most annoying is that it worked out; not only did Vargas bunt the runner to third, but he reached first after the Jays tried and failed to retire the lead man, and the Nationals scored one run in the inning. It was García’s third career four-hit game. He’s actually one of the rare major leaguers to have had six hits in a game, doing so against the Royals last year. García is hitting .337/.381/.510 this season. Rotoworld Today, 4:00 pm
  • Jose Caballero steals four bases with no hits
Jose Caballero stole four bases and scored three runs without recording a hit Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Only against the Mets. Caballero walked three times today and also got a steal as the automatic runner in the 10th inning. He’s just the second player this millennium to steal four bases without getting a hit; Everth Cabrera did so for the Padres in 2012. Caballero leads the AL with 13 steals in 18 tries this season. • Jeff McNeil goes 0-for-4 in loss to Rays
Jeff McNeil went 0-for-4 on Sunday and is 1-for-16 in his last four games.

Advice: The NL batting champ when he hit .326 in 2022, McNeil slipped to .270 last year and is at .231 right now. Of course, that’s not coming with a lot of power or many walks, either. The Mets aren’t about to take him out of the lineup with any regularity, but perhaps they should cease using him in left field on those days when they decide someone else should play second base. • Nico Hoerner leads Cubs past Brewers on Sunday
Nico Hoerner doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, propelling the Cubs to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Brewers.

Advice: Hoerner opened the scoring in the ballgame with a two-run double off of Freddy Peralta in the home half of the fifth inning. He then advanced to third on a ground ball and dashed home on a wild pitch with the Cubs’ third run of the day. The speedy 26-year-old infielder finished the afternoon 1-for-5 and is now hitting .282/.358/.397 with one home run, 10 RBI and four swipes through his first 34 games of the 2024 season.
