  • Ceddanne Rafaela homers as BoSox snap Twins streak
Ceddanne Rafaela homered and walked Sunday as the Red Sox snapped the Twins’ 12-game winning streak by prevailing 9-2.

Advice: Rafaela’s homer was 105.2 mph off the bat and was projected at 398 feet. The 23-year-old clearly possesses sufficient pop, but the approach needs work; he’s swinging at everything and just not making hard contact consistently. The result to date has been a .202/.228/.370 line with three homers and four steals in seven tries. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Paul DeJong scores twice as White Sox beat Cards
Paul DeJong went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI as the White Sox triumphed over the Cardinals 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Advice: DeJong smacked a one-out ground-rule double off of Matthew Liberatore in the second inning, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Bryan Ramos. He then further victimized his former squad with an RBI double in the seventh inning that extended the White Sox lead to 3-1. He scored later in the inning on an RBI knock by Braden Shewmake. With his two-hit attack, DeJong is now hitting .224/.267/.412 with three long balls and seven RBI in 90 plate appearances. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago
  • Oneil Cruz homers, doubles in Pirates’ victory
Oneil Cruz homered, doubled and walked Sunday in leading the Pirates to a 5-3 win over the Rockies.

Advice: The double would have been a homer in 24 parks, according to Statcast. Cruz left nothing to chance on the actual homer an at-bat later, sending it 429 feet to right-center. Cruz ended up with two homers and six hard-hit balls in the three-game series against the Rockies. Rotoworld Today, 1:39 pm

  • Sitting after three straight starts
Alexander is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Alexander had started each of the previous three games at shortstop, going 1-for-9 with one walk. He'll give way to Kevin Newman for the series finale, but the playing time at shortstop will likely tilt in Alexander's direction until Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is ready to return from the injured list. • Gets fourth straight start
Shewmake will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Shewmake will start in his fourth straight game, with two coming at second base and two at third base. He doesn't seem to be making much of a case to move into a full-time role at any position, however, as he went 0-for-9 over his previous three starts to drop his season-long slash line down to .140/.154/.240 over his 52 plate appearances. • On bench for second straight game
Dubon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Dubon is on the bench for a second straight game and seems to have moved into a part-time role after he had drawn starts in the outfield in each of the first three games of May. The Astros have a regular opening in left field with Chas McCormick (hamstring) moving to the injured list, but rookie Joey Loperfido looks to have an edge on the gig, leaving Dubon to vie with Jake Meyers and Trey Cabbage for playing time at the other outfield spot while Kyle Tucker is locked in as the everyday right fielder. • Managing adductor issue
Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox and is dealing with adductor soreness, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Manager Pedro Grifol indicated Lopez could have played through the issue, but the skipper decided to provide a day off. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Tampa Bay. Braden Shewmake is manning the keystone while Bryan Ramos starts at third base Sunday. • Ezequiel Tovar gets first day off of season
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the lineup to begin Sunday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: For the first time in 2024, Tovar will get a day off. The shortstop will at least begin Sunday’s finale on the bench with Alan Trejo handling his duties. Rotoworld Today, 9:54 am
  • Three hits in loss
Estrada went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 14-3 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Estrada has found some consistency in May, going 7-for-17 (.412) over the first four games of the month. He's added two doubles and four RBI in that short stretch. He started slow, but the second baseman is now up to a respectable .254/.270/.426 slash line with four home runs, 17 RBI, 13 runs scored, one stolen base, seven doubles and one triple over 126 plate appearances.
