• Luis Gil out-duels Corbin Burnes to beat Orioles
Luis Gil out-dueled Corbin Burnes on Wednesday evening in Baltimore, scattering just two hits over 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The right-hander racked up five strikeouts on the night while allowing only one base on balls. Both of the hits against him in the contest were singles and the O’s never really mounted a serious scoring threat against him. Gil generated nine whiffs on 95 pitches on the night — six of those on his fastball which averaged 95.8 mph — while posting a CSW of 26 percent. The 25-year-old hurler has made a major impact in the Yankees’ rotation through the first month-plus of the season, going 2-1 with a 3.19 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 40/20 K/BB ratio over 31 innings through his first six starts. He’ll try to keep the good times rolling when he squares off against the Astros at home on Tuesday. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Dodgers option Landon Knack to Triple-A
Dodgers optioned RHP Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: While it’s not official, this move would seemingly indicate that Walker Buehler will step into the Dodgers’ rotation the next time that Knack’s spot comes around. Knack, 26, did a terrific job in his limited action with the Dodgers, posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio over 16 innings in his three starts. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
  • Optioned to OKC
The Dodgers optioned Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Advice: Knack threw five innings of one-run ball during his last start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but he will head back to the minors nonetheless. His demotion will allow J.P. Feyereisen to come up from the minors while also opening a spot in the Dodgers' rotation -- potentially pointing toward Walker Buehler (elbow) making his season debut Monday against the Marlins. • Start pushed back
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Gallen (hamstring) won't start Friday as scheduled in an effort to provide him extra rest, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander was originally set to start Wednesday, but Tuesday's starter Jordan Montgomery was pushed back a day since the start time was delayed two hours. Gallen apparently isn't having any issues with the hamstring injury that surfaced in his previous start, but Lovullo has still decided to give his ace some extra rest. The earliest Gallen will take the mound is Sunday versus the Padres, but it's possible he gets some additional time, as team off days Thursday and Monday give Arizona some flexibility. • Zac Gallen (hamstring) won’t start on Friday
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Wednesday that Zac Gallen (hamstring) will not start on Friday.

Advice: Lovullo noted that Gallen’s hamstring is actually fine now, they just want to give him some extra rest. Expect the Diamondbacks to finalize their rotation plans for the weekend shortly. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 pm

  • J-Rod raises average to .270 with three more hits
Julio Rodríguez went 3-for-5 with a run scored on Wednesday in the Mariners’ loss to the Braves.

Advice: Rodríguez has clearly snapped out of an early-season funk at the dish with seven multi-hit performances in his last 13 contests over the past two weeks since April 17. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar has just one round-tripper through 31 games, but he’s managed to raise his batting average back up to the .270 mark, and has also chipped in seven steals as well. It’s just a matter of time before he starts hitting moonshots again. Rotoworld Today, 3:25 pm
  • Addison Barger goes 0-for-3 against Royals
Addison Barger went 0-for-3 on Wednesday, leaving him 1-for-18 to start his career.

Advice: Two strikeouts and a weak grounder today. Barger has been on base just once in five games, collecting a lone single, and he’s struck out six times. He’ll need to pick it up if he’s going to survive Kevin Kiermaier’s eventual return. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm

  • Willy Adames hits two homers versus former club
Willy Adames hit a pair of homers to drive in four runs against his former team in a win over the Rays on Wednesday.

Advice: Adames has three homers and eight RBI the last two days. It looked like he might bat lower in the order than usual this year, and he did hit fifth against the Mets on Opening Day. However, he’s hit fourth or higher every game since, and he’s now up to 21 RBI in 30 games for the season. Rotoworld Today, 1:49 pm
  • Cranks two more homers
Adames went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Rays.

Advice: Adames extended the Brewers' lead to 3-0 with a solo shot off Zach Eflin in the sixth inning before breaking the game open with a three-run blast off Erasmo Ramirez in the seventh. Adames now has three homers and eight RBI in his last two contests after going 16 games without a long ball. Overall, the 28-year-old shortstop is slashing .278/.373/.496 with six homers, 21 RBI, 18 runs scored and four steals through 30 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 1:23 pm
