• Nearing game action
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Perdomo (knee) is expected to play in live games "very, very shortly," Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old has already taken live at-bats but has yet to run thus bases, so he still has a bit of work to do in his rehab program before seeing game action. Lovullo said in mid-May that Perdomo was expected to return from the injured list in a couple weeks, but it instead appears the shortstop's absence will extend into June. • Giants recall Tyler Fitzgerald on Tuesday
Giants recalled INF/OF Tyler Fitzgerald from Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Fitzgerald is back with San Francisco after launching six homers in six games over the last week for Triple-A Sacramento. The 26-year-old figures to come off the bench for the Giants as extra depth moving forward. He’s gotten into 22 contests this season in the big leagues, batting .269 (14-for-52) with one homer and four steals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:59 pm
  • Recalled from Triple-A
The Giants recalled Fitzgerald from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Fitzgerald was sent to the minors May 20 following the addition of Ryan McKenna from Baltimore. However, Fitzgerald has gone 11-for-25 with six homers and 13 RBI in just six games since joining Sacramento, so the Giants will bring him back up to the majors and look to take advantage of his hot bat. The 26-year-old owns a .269/.309/.442 slash line in 55 MLB plate appearances this year, and his return will cause the dismissal of McKenna, who was DFA'd in a corresponding move. • Getting day off
Rocchio is not in the Guardians' lineup versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Rocchio has just two hits across 22 plate appearances in the last seven games. With Rocchio taking a seat, Gabriel Arias will take over at shortstop and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:29 pm
  • Not in starting nine
Bae is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Bae has been sharing center field with Michael Taylor since being called up, with Taylor getting most of the work against left-handed pitching and Bae taking on right-handers. With southpaw Tarik Skubal on the mound Tuesday, Taylor will start and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:34 pm

  • Absent from starting nine
Urshela is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The Tigers will reward Matt Vierling's two-homer performance Sunday by giving him another start at the hot corner, pushing Urshela out of the starting lineup against Jared Jones. Urshela is slashing .273/.312/.318 without a home run across 93 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:53 am

Diaz (calf) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Diaz has missed the first two months of the 2024 campaign with a strained right calf he sustained in early March. He appeared in 10 games at Triple-A during his rehab assignment and slashed .154/.313/.308 with six walks and five strikeouts in 32 plate appearances.
