• Unclaimed and outrighted
Carreras was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Carreras was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Sunday. Thus he lost his 40-man roster spot, but he will remain with the organization after going unclaimed. The 24-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in mid-March and has struggled there with a .181 average and .515 OPS across 38 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:43 pm
  • Rockies outright Julio Carreras to Triple-A
Rockies sent INF Julio Carreras outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Advice: Carreras was designated for assignment over the weekend and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 24-year-old infielder has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster, but will still remain with the organization. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:19 pm
  • Out of Tuesday's lineup
Urshela is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Kansas City.

Advice: Urshela has gone 4-for-19 with two doubles in six games since he returned from the injured list last week, and he'll take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Matt Vierling will handle the hot corner and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:51 pm

  • Time off after back-to-back games
Diaz (calf) appeared in back-to-back rehab games with Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday before receiving Sunday off.

Advice: Diaz played seven innings at third base in Friday's game against El Paso before walking in his only plate appearance as the designated hitter Saturday. There's been no report of an aggravation of the injury to explain why Diaz was in the game for such a brief time Saturday, and he was then out of the lineup Sunday before the team's off day Monday. The Aviators also saw their scheduled game against Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday postponed due to rain, so Diaz will have had some extra rest if he does return to the lineup for the Aviators on Wednesday. • Cubs recall Luis Vázquez from Triple-A Iowa
Cubs recalled INF Luis Vázquez from Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: As expected, Vázquez is up to provide some infield depth for the Cubs. The 24-year-old hit .270 with three homers and a stolen base over 38 games while with Iowa. There’s no fantasy potential for 2024 with Vázquez. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:29 pm

  • Recalled to big club
The Cubs recalled Vazquez from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday.

Advice: Vazquez, 27, has hit .262 with three home runs over 39 games with Iowa this season. He will provide some reinforcement in the infield with Nico Hoerner (hamstring) banged up and would be making his major-league debut if/when he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:26 pm

  • Officially reinstated
Anderson (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Anderson will be available for Tuesday's game against the Brewers after missing exactly 10 days with back soreness. In two rehab starts, Anderson went 4-for-9 with a two-run home run and four additional runs scored, possibly a sign of encouragement for fantasy managers after Anderson started the MLB season batting .197 with a 29.7 percent strikeout rate. • Marlins activate Tim Anderson for Tuesday return
Marlins activated INF Tim Anderson from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Anderson missed nearly two weeks while dealing with a lower back strain. The 30-year-old has hit just .197/.234/.221 with no homers and three steals in 128 plate appearances, and it’s very possible his days of being a fantasy option have passed. Tristan Gray is back in Jacksonville to make room for Anderson on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:34 am

  • Report: Anderson coming off injured list Tuesday
Isaac Azout of SBNation reports that the Marlins will activate Tim Anderson (back) off the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Anderson was placed on the injured list May 13 with lower back tightness, so the shortstop will end up missing a little over a week. He’ll take over starting shortstop duties, and Tristan Gray will be optioned back to Triple-A in the corresponding move per Azout. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:55 am
