• Abner Uribe suspended six games
Abner Uribe was suspended six games after a brawl with Jose Siri on Tuesday.

Advice: Uribe will reportedly appeal the six-game suspension. The 23-year-old swung at Jose Siri near first base in the eighth inning after the two players exchanged words. Uribe had to be held back by his own teammates and he was ultimately brought down to the dugout and ejected from the game. “There were some words shared that didn’t have much to do with the game that probably shouldn’t have been shared there in that exchange,” Uribe said. • Sent back to minors
The Twins optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Funderburk worked two innings in Tuesday's win over the White Sox, allowing a pair of runs. Since he wasn't going to be available for Wednesday's series finale in Chicago, Funderburk will head back to Triple-A while the Twins bring aboard right-hander Caleb Boushley from St. Paul to serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. • Appealing six-game suspension
Uribe received a six-game suspension Wednesday for his role in a benches-clearing brawl Tuesday in the Brewers' 8-2 win over the Rays, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He has appealed the suspension and will be available for Wednesday's series finale versus Tampa Bay.

Advice: In addition to Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy receiving a two-game ban, three players [Uribe, Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta (five games) and Rays outfielder Jose Siri (three games)] were suspended for their roles in Tuesday's brawl. Uribe's punishment is the most severe since he's considered to have incited the incident in the eighth inning, when he threw a punch at Siri after Siri grounded out. Uribe was ejected from the game, but he'll appeal the six-game suspension with the hope of getting the banishment reduced. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Marlins option Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A
Marlins optioned RHP Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Ramirez heads back to the minors after providing the Marlins some additional relief over the past few days. The 29-year-old appeared in three games for Miami and allowed just one hit and struck out three in 3 1/3 innings of work. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
  • Twins option Kody Funderburk to Triple-A
Twins optioned LHP Kody Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Funderbunk will head down to the minors in what seems to be somewhat of a surprising move given his results in the big leagues. In his 11 appearances with the Twins this season, the 27-year-old southpaw has posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.28 WHIP with a 15/5 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. Chances are, he’ll get more opportunities in the majors with a Minnesota bullpen that has the 5th-best ERA (2.67) in MLB. Rotoworld Today, 10:15 am
  • Undergoing MRI on injured back
Matz will undergo an MRI on his injured back Thursday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Matz attempted to pitch through a back issue during a loss to the Tigers on Tuesday, but he struggled and will now undergo testing. The Cardinals will wait until the results of the exam come in before deciding on a potential stint on the injured list for the left-hander. Of the potential candidates on the Cardinals' 40-man roster that could take Matz's rotation spot, Sem Robberse has pitched the best at Triple-A Memphis, sporting a 1.82 ERA and 29:6 K:BB over 29.2 innings. • Steven Matz (back) scheduled for MRI Thursday
Steven Matz (back) is scheduled for an MRI on Thursday.

Advice: Matz attempted to pitch through a lower-back issue on Tuesday and it appears he may have pushed it too much. Cardinals manager Oli Marimol added that the 32-year-old isn’t feeling much better today, so an MRI makes sense and one could speculate a trip to the injured list is likely to happen. Matz has posted a 6.18 ERA through his first six starts which is on pace for his worst-career ERA in a 162-game season. Rotoworld Today, 9:12 am

  • Sent down to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ramirez made a good first impression in his first-ever stint in the big leagues, tossing 3.1 relief innings for the Marlins. He should get another opportunity with the big club before long. Rotowire.com Today, 9:02 am
  • White Sox option Prelander Berroa to Triple-A
White Sox optioned RHP Prelander Berroa to Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Berrora came into Tuesday’s game against the Royals in the eighth inning where he got out of a bases loaded jam when Kyle Farmer grounded out to third base. The 24-year-old has struggled at the minor league level with a 8.74 ERA in his 11 appearances (two starts) with Charlotte. He’ll have to continue to develop before he becomes an option the White Sox can rely on in high-leverage situations. Rotoworld Today, 8:28 am
