• Freddy Peralta suspended five games
Freddy Peralta was suspended five games after hitting Jose Siri on Tuesday.

Advice: Peralta was having another stellar outing for the Brewers on Tuesday and the only run he allowed was a home run from Jose Siri. Later in the game, Peralta hit Siri in the sixth inning which was deemed an intentional act by the home plate umpire and led to his ejection, as well as Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy. Peralta will appeal the five-game suspension handed to him by Major League Baseball, while Murphy was given a two-game suspension which he is serving starting on Wednesday. • Abner Uribe suspended six games
Abner Uribe was suspended six games after a brawl with Jose Siri on Tuesday.

Advice: Uribe will reportedly appeal the six-game suspension. The 23-year-old swung at Jose Siri near first base in the eighth inning after the two players exchanged words. Uribe had to be held back by his own teammates and he was ultimately brought down to the dugout and ejected from the game. “There were some words shared that didn’t have much to do with the game that probably shouldn’t have been shared there in that exchange,” Uribe said. • Sent back to minors
The Twins optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Funderburk worked two innings in Tuesday's win over the White Sox, allowing a pair of runs. Since he wasn't going to be available for Wednesday's series finale in Chicago, Funderburk will head back to Triple-A while the Twins bring aboard right-hander Caleb Boushley from St. Paul to serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. • Gets five-game ban, will appeal
Peralta was suspended five games by Major League Baseball on Wednesday for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in Tuesday's 8-2 win, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He'll appeal the suspension.

Advice: The right-handed was ejected from Tuesday's contest after the umpiring crew concluded that Peralta threw at Siri intentionally one plate appearance after Siri had hit a home run. Since Peralta is appealing the suspension, he should be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Cubs, if the appeal process isn't completed before then. • Marlins recall Roddery Muñoz from Triple-A
Marlins recalled RHP Roddery Muñoz from Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Muñoz returns to the active roster after a brief stint with Triple-A Jacksonville. The 24-year-old hurler has one start under his belt this season where he stuck out seven and allowed two runs across five innings. Miami has the 3rd-worst starting ERA in baseball so far this season, so the team hopes the addition of Muñoz can provide some stability, but he’s still raw and inexperienced to expect anything great from him early on. Fantasy managers can hold off until there’s a bit more of a sample size. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

  • Appealing six-game suspension
Uribe received a six-game suspension Wednesday for his role in a benches-clearing brawl Tuesday in the Brewers' 8-2 win over the Rays, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He has appealed the suspension and will be available for Wednesday's series finale versus Tampa Bay.

Advice: In addition to Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy receiving a two-game ban, three players [Uribe, Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta (five games) and Rays outfielder Jose Siri (three games)] were suspended for their roles in Tuesday's brawl. Uribe's punishment is the most severe since he's considered to have incited the incident in the eighth inning, when he threw a punch at Siri after Siri grounded out. Uribe was ejected from the game, but he'll appeal the six-game suspension with the hope of getting the banishment reduced. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago

  • Marlins option Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A
Marlins optioned RHP Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Ramirez heads back to the minors after providing the Marlins some additional relief over the past few days. The 29-year-old appeared in three games for Miami and allowed just one hit and struck out three in 3 1/3 innings of work. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
  • Twins option Kody Funderburk to Triple-A
Twins optioned LHP Kody Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Funderbunk will head down to the minors in what seems to be somewhat of a surprising move given his results in the big leagues. In his 11 appearances with the Twins this season, the 27-year-old southpaw has posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.28 WHIP with a 15/5 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. Chances are, he’ll get more opportunities in the majors with a Minnesota bullpen that has the 5th-best ERA (2.67) in MLB. Rotoworld Today, 10:15 am
  • Returns from IL
The Orioles reinstated Means (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Though manager Brandon Hyde had already noted Monday that Means was on track to rejoin the rotation for this weekend's series in Cincinnati, the Orioles activated him early since the southpaw's 30-day minor-league rehab window officially came to an end. The Orioles placed Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) on the 15-day IL in a corresponding move, so Means' arrival means that the team should have room in the rotation for at least one of Albert Suarez and Cole Irvin, or even both pitchers if Hyde elects to go with a six-man rotation. Means struggled mightily through the first five starts of his rehab stint with Triple-A Norfolk (13.89 ERA, 2.31 WHIP in 11.2 innings) but he closed his minor-league assignment in dominant fashion Sunday, striking out eight over seven shutout innings and allowing just one hit and one walk. He tossed 95 pitches (61 strikes) in the outing and is unlikely to face any major restrictions when he makes his 2024 Orioles debut, likely Friday or Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 9:46 am
