• Cristian Javier (neck) throws 68 pitches in rehab start
Cristian Javier (neck) made his first minor league rehab start at Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, giving up three runs on three hits over 3 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander walked a pair while striking out three batters in the contest. He threw 68 pitches in the game, 39 of those for strikes. There had been speculation that he would require just one rehab start before returning to the Astros’ rotation next week, we’ll see if that holds after how Saturday’s outing went. • Luis Rengifo sits due to illness on Saturday
Luis Rengifo was held out of the Angels’ starting lineup on Saturday due to illness.

Advice: The versatile 27-year-old has been under the weather for a couple of days, so skipper Ron Washington thought it was best to give him a night off. Brandon Drury returned to the Angels lineup to play second base on Saturday while Ehire Adrianza will cover third base and bat second for the Halos against Ben Lively and the Guardians. • Battling illness
Rengifo is out of Saturday's lineup versus Cleveland due to an illness, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo was reportedly feeling under the weather Friday as well, but he won't be able to play through his illness Saturday. Ehire Adrianza is filling in as the Angels' third baseman and could continue to do so if Rengifo is forced to miss any additional games. Rotowire.com Today, 1:20 pm

  • Aaron Judge ejected for first time in career
Aaron Judge was ejected for arguing balls and strikes during Saturday’s game against the Tigers. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored before exiting.

Advice: That’s the first time Judge has been ejected from a game in his MLB career. Judge appeared to judge — pun intended — the pitch correctly, as the offering appeared to be quite a bit outside of the strike zone. Trent Grisham has taken over in center. It’s unlikely Judge will face further discipline. Rotoworld Today, 12:38 pm

  • Day off Saturday
Rengifo isn't in the Angels' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo will get a breather after logging a base hit in each of his last seven games and recording multiple hits in each of his last three. Ehire Adrianza will fill in at the hot corner and bat second. Rotowire.com Today, 12:03 pm

  • Takes big step in recovery
Cole (elbow) threw 15 pitches off a mound Saturday, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: This was Cole's first bullpen session since he was shut down from throwing in mid-March, thus it was a significant milestone as the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner works his way back to the Yankees rotation. Per Goodman, Cole was "giddy" after throwing Saturday, so it appears the session went well. The veteran right-hander is eligible to come off the IL near the end of this month, but recent reports suggest that mid-June may be a more realistic target. Rotowire.com Today, 10:34 am

  • Cole (elbow) throws 15 pitches in bullpen session
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw 15 pitches in a bullpen session Saturday.

Advice: It’s the first session for Cole since March when the right-hander was shut down with nerve inflammation in his right elbow. The next step is likely another session in the pen for the 33-year-old, but it’s a positive sign with Cole reportedly “giddy” over how things went. The hope is that he can return to the mound in the middle of June. So far, so good. Rotoworld Today, 8:21 am

  • Collects easy save
Helsley tossed a perfect inning to earn a save over the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Helsely retired the 2-3-4 hitters in the White Sox lineup with just eight pitches to secure the 3-0 win. Since blowing a save chance in his season debut, Helsley has converted 11 consecutive opportunities while allowing one earned run over 16 innings. He owns a 1.59 ERA with a terrific 19:2 K:BB this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:43 pm
  • Luis García Jr. hits three-run homer off bench
Luis García Jr. delivered a three-run homer as a pinch-hitter and later walked Friday as the Nationals came back to beat the Blue Jays 9-3.

Advice: García’s homer off Erik Swanson made it a 5-3 game in the eighth, and the Nationals kept piling on from there. García was on the bench against a lefty tonight, but it really seems like he should be a full-timer at this point. He’s batting .300/.344/.456, and it seems unlucky that he has just two homers on eight barrels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm
