  • Nolan Arenado reaches five times, homers in loss
    Nolan Arenado went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and two walks on Saturday against the White Sox.

    Advice: That’s back-to-back games with two hits and three RBI for Arenado. He knocked a base hit in the first inning, then drew a walk in the fourth. With two runners on base in the fifth, he took Erick Fedde deep for a three-run homer, his second of the season. Arenado drew another walk in the eighth and knocked a base hit in the tenth to reach base in all five plate appearances.   • Belts homer Friday
    Machado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk Friday in a 7-1 victory versus Arizona.

    Advice: Machado accounted for the Padres' final two runs in the victory with his fifth-inning blast. The homer extended his hitting streak to five games, though he's notched exactly one hit in each contest and is batting just .238 during that stretch.   • Big day against Mets
    Rosario went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored Friday against the Mets.

    Advice: Rosario hit three singles to record his first multi-hit game since April 22. He's hit only .222 in that span, though he's still struck out at just a 15.8 percent clip and has started nine of the last 10 games.   • Punches out eight
    Singer took a no-decision Friday against the Rangers after allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out eight batters through six innings. He did not issue a walk.

    Advice: Although Singer turned in yet another strong outing Friday, his contributions went unrewarded as the Royals were unable to take the lead until after the 27-year-old was removed from the game, giving the win to John Schreiber instead. Singer didn't get the win, but his 2.45 ERA and 42 strikeouts through 40.1 innings on the season still give fantasy managers plenty of reason to be pleased with his performance to begin the year.   • Blows save in extras
    Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

    Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani.     Morton did not factor into the decision Friday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Morton held the vaunted Dodgers lineup in check Friday night, pitching well enough to earn his third straight quality start. Over those three starts, the 40-year-old has thrown 19 innings to the tune of a 1.89 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB. Morton is slated to face the Mets on the road in his next start.   • Charlie Morton holds LAD to two runs in no-decision
    Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not factoring into the decision.

    Advice: Morton continues his good run, but it comes without a win as Atlanta didn’t provide him the necessary run support. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.50 while scattering five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morton didn’t look good in the middle of April, but the 40-year-old has been a very strong option outside of those two outings where he gave up 12 of the 14 runs he’s given up in 2024.     Advice: Arenado gave St. Louis an early lead with a two-run double in the first inning before adding another RBI double in the fifth. Over his previous 13 games, he posted a disappointing .614 OPS with just one multi-hit performance. Friday's game was the first time he drove in multiple runs since April 20.
