• Tosses eight scoreless frames
Gilbert (3-0) earned the win over Houston on Saturday, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out six batters over eight scoreless innings.

Advice: Gilbert tied a season-high mark with four walks, but that didn't hurt him since he gave up just a pair of hits (both singles). The right-hander notched his fifth straight quality start and lowered his season ERA to 1.69, fifth-lowest among qualified MLB pitchers. Gilbert also ranks fifth among qualified starters with a 0.79 WHIP while registering a 50:13 K:BB through 48 innings on the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm
  • Logan Gilbert hurls eight shutout frames vs. Astros
Logan Gilbert fired eight shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Astros.

Advice: Gilbert continued putting zeroes on the scoreboard against a loaded Astros lineup, needing just 96 pitches (60 strikes) to navigate eight dominant frames. The 27-year-old burgeoning fantasy ace finished with six strikeouts and only allowed six baserunners as Houston’s lineup mustered just five batted balls with an exit velocity over 95 mph. He’s allowed two earned runs or fewer in six of his seven starts so far this season. He’ll bring a pristine 1.69 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 50/13 K/BB ratio across 48 innings (seven starts) into a road tilt on Thursday against the Twins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:14 pm
  • Undergoes MRI on Saturday
Kirby underwent an MRI on his right knee Saturday after being removed early from his start against the Astros on Friday, but the results are still pending, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kirby's night ended Friday after a relatively modest 88 pitches due to the lingering right knee issue, which he conceded after the game he'd been dealing with "for the last couple of weeks." The general feeling after the game was he would be able to make his next start without issue, but manager Scott Servais said Kirby was sent for an MRI "just to make sure we're treating it the right way." Servais confirmed Kirby's arm felt good and added that he still expected the talented right-hander to make his next scheduled start, which is slated for Wednesday at Target Field against the Twins. • In line to start Tuesday
Sanchez will start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Sanchez was available in relief for Saturday's game, but because he wasn't needed, he's now set up to start Tuesday. Meanwhile, Spencer Turnbull will be available in relief Sunday in what could wind up being a piggyback situation with Taijuan Walker. The roles of all three pitchers seem somewhat in flux. • Ha-Seong Kim launches three-run homer in victory
Ha-Seong Kim launched a three-run homer in the seventh inning on Saturday night, helping to power the Padres to a lopsided victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim had been hitless in three at-bats entering the seventh inning, but he was able to salvage his night by crushing a 382-foot (97.2 mph EV) three-run blast off of Bryce Jarvis. He also drove in a run with a ground ball in the ninth inning. On the season, the 28-year-old infielder is now slashing .211/.315/.391 with five homers, 21 RBI and seven stolen bases through his first 36 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:07 pm

  • Picks up first hold Saturday
Duran gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning Saturday to record his first hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The right-hander got the call to face the heart of Boston's order in the eighth rather than being held back for the save chance, and he got the job done without issue. Cole Sands then worked the ninth inning for the save. Duran had only one hold last season along with his 27 saves, and Twins manager Rocco Baldelli typically favors set roles in his bullpen over playing matchups in high-leverage spots, so there's no reason yet to assume this is a sign Duran will see less ninth-inning work than expected. He's appeared in three games since making his season debut Tuesday, posting a 5:0 K:BB over three scoreless frames and collecting saves in the other two contests. • George Kirby undergoes precautionary MRI on knee
Mariners’ manager Scott Servais told reporters on Saturday that right-hander George Kirby underwent a precautionary MRI on his right knee.

Advice: Servais didn’t relay any results from that exam yet, but did note that he’s optimistic Kirby will be able to make his next start against the Twins on Wednesday in Minnesota. While it doesn’t sound like anything serious, the mere fact that he required an MRI has to be at least somewhat worrisome for fantasy managers. Be sure to monitor his status closely over the next couple of days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:07 pm

  • Idle versus LHP
Rojas isn't in the Mariners' lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Left-hander Framber Valdez will take the mound Saturday for Houston, sending the left-handed bat of Rojas to the bench for the beginning of the game. Luis Urias will cover the hot corner instead and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:58 pm

  • Gets breather against lefty
O'Hearn isn't in the Orioles' lineup Saturday against the Reds, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: O'Hearn will stay put in the Orioles' dugout as the Reds send out lefty Andrew Abbott to start on the mound. Adley Rutschman will serve as Baltimore's DH while O'Hearn rests, allowing James McCann to start behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:51 pm
