  • Anthony Rizzo leaves game with right wrist injury
    Anthony Rizzo was removed from Sunday night’s game against the Red Sox in the seventh inning after suffering a right wrist injury in a collision at first base.

    Advice: Rizzo collided with Red Sox left-hander Brennan Bernardino who was attempting to cover first base on a throw from Dominic Smith. Rizzo went to the ground and braced his fall with his right hand, which seemed to have caused the injury. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures. Stay tuned.   • Alec Bohm with three more hits Sunday
    Alec Bohm went 3-for-4 with a double, walk, and two runs batted in on Sunday against the Orioles.

    Advice: April Bohm is back. He had eight hits and five RBI this weekend in Baltimore without striking out as he continues in what’s been a true breakout season for the third basemen. His 57 RBI are second most in the National League, behind only Marcell Ozuna. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:45 pm

  • Losing work to Flores
    Brooks is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

    Advice: Brooks looked as though he might hold down a strong-side platoon role at first base following his call-up from Triple-A Sacramento on May 28, but he appears to have since faded into a pure backup role behind Wilmer Flores.     Advice: George Springer will get the start at DH as Addison Barger takes over in right field against right-hander Ben Lively. Age has caught up to Turner in a hurry -- he's slashing .225/.314/.345 with four home runs this season -- and the veteran will likely continue to receive regular rest days as the Blue Jays work in newcomers like Barger and Spencer Horwitz.     Cave (head) went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, three RBI and three runs scored Saturday against Pittsburgh.

    Advice: Cave was hit in the head during batting practice Friday but returned to the lineup one day later. He participated in Colorado's 16-run offensive outburst in a significant way, and he now has at least one hit in each of his last four starts. Cave entered the lineup with Brenton Doyle (knee) scratched, though he may find consistent playing time hard to come by assuming Doyle doesn't require a stint on the injured list.   • Huge day at plate
    Goodman went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, five RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 16-4 win over the Pirates.

    Advice: Goodman got the party started with a 440-foot solo shot off Jared Jones to lead off the bottom of the third and added an RBI double in the following frame. The utility man, who drew the start at catcher on Saturday, then topped off his monster day at the plate by crushing a two-run homer in the seventh and an RBI groundout in the eighth. He finished with season highs in hits (four), RBI (five) and runs scored (three) after coming into the contest on an 0-for-14 skid to open the month of June.     Jake Cave went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI in a blowout win for the Rockies on Saturday over the Pirates.

  • Hunter Goodman homers twice, drives in five
    Hunter Goodman homered twice, picked up four hits and drove in five runs in a 16-4 shellacking of the Pirates on Saturday.

    Advice: Goodman also scored three runs in a monster game for the 24-year-old. There haven’t been many for the infielder/backstop, but he showed off his impressive raw power with a pair of homers to center; one a solo shot and the other a two-run blast. Even with the big effort Goodman is only hitting .203/.247/.449, but that pop and his friendly home confines certainly make him a name to keep an eye on. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:57 pm

    Jake Cave (head) returned to the Rockies’ starting lineup on Saturday.

    Advice: Cave was scratched from Friday night’s lineup after he was hit in the head by a line drive during batting practice. Fortunately, he sustained just a minor cut to his forehead and is able to return to action the following evening.
