• Nolan Arenado returns on Tuesday vs. Braves
Nolan Arenado (forearm) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Braves.

Advice: Arenado missed two consecutive games while dealing with a nerve issue in his left forearm. The 33-year-old is back in action, but he was moved down to sixth in the lineup. Brandon Crawford retreats to the bench with Arenado back in the fold. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:00 pm

  • Idle against lefty
McKinstry is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: McKinstry will avoid a matchup with Ranger Suarez on Tuesday, yielding to Ryan Kreidler at shortstop. McKinstry had started in each of the Tigers' last two games, going 4-for-7 with a solo homer and two doubles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:53 am

  • Struggles in return from IL
Polanco (hamstring), reinstated from the injured list earlier in the day, went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in a loss to the Rays on Monday.

Advice: Polanco finished up his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma by belting three home runs and compiling six RBI over his final two games, but that prodigious bat was nowhere to be found in his return to the big leagues Monday. The veteran disappointingly reverted to the struggles that have defined most of his season, and following Monday's trio of punchouts, Polanco now sports a career-worst 31.9 percent strikeout rate. • Drills 15th home run
Devers went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Monday's win over Toronto.

Advice: Devers put the Red Sox on the board with a two-run shot in the fourth inning. He has five homers in 20 games this month, though only two have come in his last 16 appearances. Devers bumped his slash line up to a robust .282/.366/.544 with 45 runs scored and 33 extra-base hits. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:40 pm
  • Devers has three hits, home run against Blue Jays
Rafael Devers went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Devers’ home run was his 15th on the season. It was his third home run against Blue Jays starter Chris Bassitt in 14 career at-bats and fifth home run in the month of June. Devers is hitting .282 with a .910 OPS and 41 RBI this year.

  • Expected back soon
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday that he's optimistic Arenado (forearm) will be ready to return to the lineup in the coming days, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado will miss a second straight start Monday against Atlanta with a left forearm issue, which is evidently something that's bothered the third baseman off and on throughout the season. However, he's feeling better following an injection and was working out on the field pregame Monday. Brandon Crawford will get a second straight start at the hot corner in Arenado's place. • Nolan Arenado (forearm) eyes midweek return
Nolan Arenado took grounders on the field prior to Monday’s game and could rejoin the Cardinals’ lineup in the next few days.

Advice: Arenado is out of the lineup for a second straight game due to left forearm nerve irritation, but it looks like the injection he had over the weekend is helping. Brandon Crawford is again playing third base tonight. Rotoworld Monday, 1:54 pm

  • Gets call to big leagues
The Royals selected Alexander's contract from Triple-A Omaha on Monday. He'll start at third base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Alexander, 27, has hit .323/.369/.555 with nine home runs this season at Omaha. Though he'll enter the lineup Monday for his MLB debut, Alexander will likely serve as a utility player during his first stint in the big leagues. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:42 pm

  • Looking for offense, Royals call up CJ Alexander
Royals selected the contract of CJ Alexander from Triple-A Omaha.

Advice: The 27-year-old Alexander, along with Drew Waters and Andrew Hoffman, was one of three players the Royals got from the Braves for the 35th overall pick in the 2022 draft. He’s typically struggled to hit for average in the minors, but he’s broken through there this year, batting .323/.369/.555 in 56 games. We’re skeptical that it’s going to translate to the majors, but the Royals are getting increasingly desperate for offense at this point. Alexander will probably see time as a DH against righties, and he could give Maikel Garcia the occasional day off at third. Rotoworld Monday, 1:31 pm
