    • Giancarlo Stanton scorches homer in win over Mariners
Giancarlo Stanton swatted a solo homer and drew a walk in a win over the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Stanton absolutely blistered a Luis Castillo offering into Monument Park to give New York a 1-0 lead. The 6-foot-6 power bat has gone deep 12 times in 2024, and he’s up to 27 RBI with the roundtripper. Rotoworld Today, 12:22 pm
    • Struggles again Wednesday
Miller (3-5) allowed five runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller's last two starts, on the road versus the Orioles and Yankees, have shown that he still has some work to do against elite offenses. He was done in by the long ball Wednesday -- Aaron Judge tagged him for a two-run home run in the first inning and Juan Soto went deep twice in the contest. Miller has allowed multiple homers in four of his 10 starts this season, giving up a total of 10 long balls. The right-hander has a 3.53 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 56:16 K:BB over 58.2 innings. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Astros. Miller gave up four runs on six hits, including two homers, and one walk over six innings in a May 5 start at Houston. • Logs steal in loss
Caballero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Caballero had gone without a steal in his last seven games, matching his longest drought of the year, which he's now done three times. He's hitting .278 (15-for-54) over 18 games in May, picking up nine of his 18 steals on the year this month. The speedster has slashed .263/.319/.368 with two home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs, eight doubles and a triple through 168 plate appearances. Caballero continues to see a majority of the playing time at shortstop over Amed Rosario. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm

    • Bryce Miller allows three home runs in loss
Bryce Miller allowed five earned runs on five hits, including three homers, across six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.

Advice: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto jumped all over Miller in this one accounting for all of his earned runs with three combined homers. Miller was visibly frustrated as the pitches they hit out weren’t even bad: Soto took two sinkers on the edge to left field and Judge golfed a low and away slider into the short porch. This was the type of game you have to tip your cap and move on from. Miller will take a 3.53 ERA into his next start on Monday at home against the Astros. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 pm

    • José Caballero with two hits, swipes base in loss
José Caballero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: The stolen base was Cabellero’s 18th of the season and tied him with Brice Turang for second-most in the league behind only Elly De La Cruz. Those steals alone have turned him into one of the best bargains from draft season so far and as the Rays’ roster crunch becomes more crowded, Caballero’s defense at shortstop is very likely to keep him on the field every day. • Comes up short in first loss
Skubal (6-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Tigers were downed 8-3 by the Royals, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: In a matchup of elite southpaws, Skubal wasn't able to keep pace with Cole Ragans and failed to complete six innings for only the second time this season in 10 starts, while tying his season high in runs allowed. Skubal also served up a solo shot to Nelson Velazquez in the fourth inning, just the fourth homer off him in 60 innings. Skubal will take a 2.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 72:10 K:BB into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:26 pm

    • Jeimer Candelario goes deep in loss to Padres
Jeimer Candelario slugged his fifth home run of the season on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Reds past the Padres.

Advice: Candelario got the Reds on the board in the home half of the first inning with a 387-foot (104.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Michael King. He also smacked a two-out single in the sixth inning and scored on a two-run double by Tyler Stephenson. He finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .223/.289/.401 with five long balls and 18 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:54 pm

    • Gunnar Henderson reaches three times in O’s loss
Gunnar Henderson singled and walked twice on Wednesday in the Orioles’ loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Henderson kicked off the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and wound up reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances. The 22-year-old franchise cornerstone is in the midst of one of the best stretches of his young career, batting .280/.419/.840 with four homers and one steal over his last seven games. • Tarik Skubal allows four runs in loss to Royals
Tarik Skubal allowed four runs over five innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: Fantasy managers were expecting a throwback pitcher’s duel in this one, but Skubal got in trouble right away on Wednesday afternoon as Kansas City struck for a pair of runs in the second inning before Nelson Velázquez took him deep for a fourth-inning solo shot. He finished with six strikeouts and only handed out a pair of free passes. He’ll bring a stellar 2.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 72/10 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (10 starts) into a favorable home matchup on Tuesday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:38 pm
