    • Bednar tosses scoreless ninth for save
David Bednar picked up the save in the Pirates’ win over the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: The Pirates were up 7-2 before a Jake Bauers grand slam in the eighth inning made it a one-run game. Bednar turned in a clean ninth inning for his eighth save of the season. He lowered his ERA to 8.44 on the season. Considering how Bednar has pitched this year and the Brewers storming back in this game, it was a clutch save. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:19 pm
    • Contreras records three hits Monday
William Contreras went 3-for-5 with a run scored in the Brewers’ loss to the Pirates on Monday.

Advice: All three of Contreras’ hits were singles. He continues to hit as his average is up to .354 on the season. Contreras’ .426 BABIP this season is high even for him, a career .348 BABIP hitter. He’s a hitting machine right now, but this level of batting average shouldn’t be expected to continue for the rest of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:11 pm
    • Bryson Stott stays hot, Phillies edge Mets
Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, powering the Phillies to a 5-4 win over the Mets in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Stott delivered late for Philadelphia, taking Mets stopper Edwin Díaz deep to lead off the ninth inning before tacking on a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ensuing frame to put the Phillies ahead for good in a back-and-forth slugfest at Citi Field. The 26-year-old infielder has been on an absolute heater of late, batting .433 (13-for-30) with one homer and five steals in nine contests since the start of May, which obviously doesn’t include a two-homer explosion back on April 28. • Bleday has two hits Monday
J.J. Bleday went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the loss to the Astros on Monday.

Advice: It was Bleday’s second game in a row with two hits. He’s had at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. Bleday attempted a stolen base for the first time this season and was caught. He stole five bases in 80 games with Oakland last season. His .193 ISO so far this season is a career high. With the RBI Monday, he’s up to 18 RBI on the season.

    • Notches eighth save
Bednar struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to earn a save over the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: Bednar retired the middle of Milwaukee's lineup in order to finish off the 8-6 win. He's converted eight of his 11 save chances this season, including seven in a row. However, he's registered a 6.94 ERA over his last 12 appearances since blowing a save chance against Detroit on April 9. Bednar has given up just one run over his last five frames and appears to be settling back into his usual groove. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:56 pm
    • Enters for injured starter
Benson went 0-for-4 with a walk in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to San Francisco.

Advice: As has been customary of late, Benson found himself on the bench to start the game against a lefty, but he was needed when TJ Friedl was removed in the second inning with a thumb injury. Benson, whose average has hovered around .200 since April 19, is just 3-for-25 (.120) over 10 games during the month of May. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:43 am

    • Lands another W
Neris (3-0) picked up the win Sunday against the Pirates, allowing two hits and one walk over a scoreless inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Neris took the mound in the top of the ninth during a 2-2 ballgame and fired off a scoreless inning, eventually earning the win after the Cubs put up three runs in the 10th. Since taking over closing duties from Adbert Alzolay, Neris has converted all six of his save chances and has earned a pair of wins. Over his last nine appearances, Neris owns a 2.00 ERA and a 7:7 K:BB in 9.0 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:10 pm

    • Goes back-to-back in first inning
Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Cronenworth got things started for the Padres by going back-to-back with Fernando Tatis off Walker Buehler in the opening inning. He went hitless the rest of the afternoon but continues to be one of the Padres' best bats. He had a 12-game hit streak that came to an end Friday and has been showing increased power early on. His .503 slug percentage is fourth among all first basemen and is a significant personal improvement after averaging a .384 slugging over his last two seasons. For the year, Cronenworth is now slashing .285/.349/.503 with seven homers, 27 RBI, 20 runs and a 14:27 BB:K in 169 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:50 pm

    • Drives in two
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI double during Sunday's 3-2 win over Washington.

Advice: Rafaela scored Garrett Cooper and Vaughn Grissom in the second inning, notching a double off MacKenzie Gore. Rafaela has generated at least one hit in 11 of his last 13 games, batting .326 with 12 RBI and six runs scored during that stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:22 pm
