    • Nick Castellanos goes 0-for-4 in loss to Angels
Nick Castellanos went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Angels on Monday.

Advice: While Castellanos’s track record certainly suggests that he will hit, this has been awfully ugly; he’s batting just .173/.242/.218 through 120 plate appearances. The only players with worse OPSs currently qualified for the batting title are rookie second basemen (Colt Keith and Enmanuel Valdez). Castellanos has always been worse than most in recognizing which pitches to swing at, but his natural talent at putting bat to ball has made up for it. That could be changing at age 32, and the Phillies might have to consider an upgrade in right field at some point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:21 pm

    • Swats leadoff homer
Nimmo went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Monday's 3-1 loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Nimmo's first-inning homer was the lone run scored by the Mets on Monday, as the team was held to four hits in total. The long ball came off Jameson Taillon and was Nimmo's first since Apr. 8. During his last 10 games, Nimmo is batting .182 with eight runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm

    • Brandon Nimmo hits leadoff homer in loss to Cubs
Brandon Nimmo belted a leadoff homer on Monday in the Mets’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Nimmo took Cubs starter Jameson Taillon deep to open the ballgame with his third long ball of the season. It was the first time he’s gone deep since a two-home explosion back on April 8. Unfortunately, it was all New York’s offense would muster for the remainder of the contest as they wound up with just three additional hits against Taillon and relievers Mark Leiter Jr. and Héctor Neris. • Not close to rehab assignment
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Suzuki (oblique) upped the intensity of his baseball activities Saturday and Sunday but is not close to beginning a rehab assignment, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Suzuki is getting a recovery day Monday before resuming baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. While he would appear to be progressing slowly but surely, he still has some hoops to jump through before he's ready to go out on a rehab assignment. Suzuki has missed the last two weeks of action with a right oblique strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:45 pm

    • Suzuki (oblique) not ready for rehab assignment
Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters that Seiya Suzuki is not yet ready for a rehab assignment.

Advice: Counsell mentioned that Suzuki went through harder workouts Saturday and Sunday and then will resume baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. The manager noted that Suzuki still has “steps to clear” before he can begin that rehab assignment. It’s likely the outfielder won’t be back until near the end of May at this point. • Gets day off
Rosario is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Rosario is on the bench for the first time since April 13, breaking a stretch of 14 consecutive starts during which he slashed .351/.373/.509 with two home runs, two stolen bases, nine RBI and seven runs. He's seen action mostly in right field and second base during that time and should continue to maintain a near-everyday role so long as he remains productive at the dish. • Continues throwing on flat ground
Cole (elbow) threw on flat ground again Saturday, and Yankees manager Aaron Boone said the session went "really well," Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: Cole has been playing catch on flat ground for about three weeks, extending his throwing distance up to 120 feet. Boone indicated early last week that the ace hurler is getting close to throwing off a mound, and that could happen as soon as this week. If Cole continues to progress without setbacks, he could feasibly be ready to join the Yankees' rotation when he's eligible to come off the 60-day IL in late May. • Amed Rosario gets Monday off vs. Brewers
Amed Rosario is not in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Brewers.

Advice: Rosario has been excellent to begin the year with a .340 average over 97 at-bats, but the Rays will give him a day off Monday against the Brew Crew. Niko Goodrum gets the start at second base while Rosario rests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:43 pm

    • Carlos Correa (intercostal) officially off of IL
Twins activated INF Carlos Correa off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Correa ended up missing a couple of weeks with his intercostal strain. The infielder is back with Austin Martin heading back to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. Now that Correa is back, he’ll play everyday at shortstop and hit in the middle of the Minnesota lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:15 pm
