    • Luis Robert Jr. swipes two bases in win over Fish
Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, drew two walks and swiped a pair of bases as the White Sox triumphed over the Marlins on Friday evening in Miami.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder smacked a one-out single off of Bryan Hoenig in the third inning and swiped second base, but the White Sox were unable to cash him in. He also drew a two-out walk in the sixth inning and nabbed second again before being stranded there. On the season, he’s now hitting .235/.313/.515 with 10 homers, 18 RBI and six stolen bases through his first 35 games. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Idle against southpaw
Mullins is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Oakland.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Mullins will avoid a matchup with LHP Hogan Harris on Friday, giving way to Colton Cowser in center field. Mullins is slashing .220/.265/.388 with nine homers and 16 stolen bases across 268 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:13 pm

    • Justin Steele throws complete game for first win
Justin Steele went the distance for his first win of 2024, pitching a two-hitting in a 5-1 game against the Angels.

Advice: The Cubs didn’t need to turn to their shaky pen this time out, as Steele finished off the Angels in just 95 pitches. He struck out seven and walked two for his first win in 13 starts this season and 18 outings dating back to last year, when he opened up 16-3 before going 0-2 in his final four turns and perhaps costing himself a Cy Young Award. Of course, it was hardly his fault that he was 0-3 this year coming into this one. His ERA stands at 2.95 after this one. Rotoworld Today, 2:32 pm
    • Throws complete game for first win
Steele (1-3) earned the win against the Angels on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over nine innings.

Advice: Steele needed just 95 pitches to toss his first career complete game. The only blemish was an RBI single by Taylor Ward in the fifth, but the lefty responded by retiring 13 consecutive batters to seal his much overdue first win of the year. The 29-year-old has logged six straight quality starts and owns a 2.95 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 77:18 K:BB over 79.1 innings this season. He lines up for a road matchup with the Orioles next week. • Dominant in rehab outing
Snell (groin) struck out nine over five scoreless innings in his rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Sacramento. He allowed no hits and issued one walk.

Advice: Making his third rehab start with Sacramento since landing on the 15-day injured list June 3, Snell made quick work of the Reno lineup, needing just 67 pitches (46 strikes) to record 15 outs. Based on how well he performed in addition to increasing his workload, Snell should be ready to return from the IL next week to make his next start with the Giants. Snell should slot back into the rotation as soon as next Tuesday's series opener versus the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 9:53 am

    • Two hits, stolen base in win
Marte went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's victory over the Dodgers.

Advice: Marte singled home Corbin Carroll in the top of the fifth to extend Arizona's lead to two runs before also going on to swipe his fourth bag of the season and first since June 11 against the Angels. The second baseman tallied two knocks on the night and has now posted multiple hits in four of his last seven contests. Marte has also hit safely in three straight and in six of his last seven. • Command issues in no-decision
Quantrill did not factor into the decision in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Quantrill struggled with his command throughout the night, needing 28 pitches to get through the opening frame before issuing three walks in the fourth. The right-hander had posted a 13:1 K:BB over his previous two starts coming in, though he's now allowed 19 hits over his last three outings (16.1 innings). Quantrill will look to earn his first win since June 11 when the Rockies travel to Cincinnati next week to take on the Reds. Rotowire.com Today, 6:21 am
    • Chased early in loss
Marsh (6-6) took the loss against the Rays on Thursday, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over three innings while striking out one.

Advice: Marsh struggled out of the gate, issuing a walk to each of the first two batters he faced before allowing two runs to come across in the opening frame. He threw only 10 of his 17 first pitches for strikes and lasted just three innings before being relieved by Carlos Hernandez to open the fourth. It marked the second time this season in which Marsh was unable to go beyond three frames and the fourth time that he's surrendered at least five runs. He's also walked multiple batters in five consecutive starts. Rotowire.com Today, 4:13 am
    • Posts big offensive line Thursday
O'Neill went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, a run, two RBI and two stolen bases in a 6-5 extra-innings win against Miami on Thursday.

Advice: O'Neill accounted for three of Boston's eight total hits to record his third consecutive multi-hit effort. He came up big in extra frames, recording an RBI single in the 11th inning and adding the game-winning RBI on a double in the 12th. O'Neill also collected two thefts in the contest after notching just one steal (on one attempt) over his first 60 games of the season. Swiping bags probably won't become a trend for the outfielder moving forward, though it's worth noting that he stole 29 combined bases across the 2021 and 2022 campaigns while with St. Louis.
