    • Mike Tauchman leaves due to left groin tightness
Mike Tauchman exited Monday’s game due to left groin tightness, according to the Cubs.

Advice: Everything is “tightness” now, so there’s no telling from the statement whether this is a day-to-day thing or a likely IL stint. Still, we’d lean towards the latter. Pete Crow-Armstrong would be the big beneficiary if Tauchman is forced to miss some time. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Tweaks groin Monday
Tauchman (groin) left Monday's contest with the Giants in the bottom of the third inning with left groin tightness, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Tauchman hustled down the line to beat out an infield single in the bottom of the third, tweaking his left groin in the process. The 33-year-old will likely undergo imaging Monday night to determine the severity of the injury. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

    • Leaves early Monday
Tauchman (undisclosed) exited Monday's contest with the Giants in the bottom of the third inning, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tauchman pulled up lame after legging out a two-out infield single in the bottom of the third, leaving the game after going 1-for-1 with a walk in the contest. He appeared to be grabbing at his left leg, but an exact diagnosis will likely come before the end of Monday's contest. In the meantime, Patrick Wisdom replaced Tauchman in the Cubs' lineup at designated hitter. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

    • Mike Tauchman leaves game with leg injury
Mike Tauchman left Monday’s game in the third inning with an apparent left leg injury.

Advice: Patrick Wisdom pinch-ran after Tauchman was hurt beating out an infield single. A Tauchman IL trip might give Pete Crow-Armstrong mixed-league value for a time. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago

    • Back on bench Monday
Cave is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Cave had started in 11 of the Rockies' last 12 games, but he'll head to the bench with Nolan Jones having returned from the injured list and with Brenton Doyle (knee) back in the lineup after a two-game absence. Though Cave has turned in a serviceable .250/.341/.389 slash line thus far in June, he could be relegated to a bench role now that Colorado has reclaimed some health in the outfield. • Losing work to Wisely
Ahmed is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Ahmed had served as the Giants' primary shortstop before landing on the injured list May 10 with a sprained left wrist, but he looks like he'll have to settle for a short-side platoon role now that he's healthy again. Since being activated Friday, the righty-hitting Ahmed has drawn two starts at shortstop -- both against lefties -- while the lefty-hitting Brett Wisely has occupied the position in two straight matchups with righties. Wisely has earned the larger portion of the timeshare at shortstop by slashing .313/.329/.478 over 23 games since being called up from Triple-A Sacramento. Rotowire.com Today, 3:46 pm
    • Taking seat Monday
Flores is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Flores had started at first base in each of the Giants' last five games, with three starts coming versus lefties and two coming versus right-handers. Though the Giants seem content to deploy Flores as their primary first baseman rather than a platoon bat while LaMonte Wade (hamstring) is on the injured list, Flores will nonetheless give way to rookie Trenton Brooks on Monday. • Back on bench Monday
Knizner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Sam Huff will step in behind the dish in the series opener after Knizner started at catcher in all three of the Rangers' games in Seattle over the weekend while going 1-for-9. Top backstop Jonah Heim (personal) is on track to return from the paternity list Tuesday, so Knizner will soon move back to second on the depth chart and see his playing time trend toward. • LaMonte Wade (hamstring) doubtful for Thursday
LaMonte Wade Jr. probably isn’t going to be able to make it back into the Giants lineup for the Rickwood game in Alabama on Thursday.

Advice: Wade has been aiming to play in the contest, but his strained left hamstring isn’t quite ready yet. The Giants have been getting by with Wilmer Flores and Trenton Brooks at first base. Brooks will most likely be demoted once Wade is ready. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 pm
