    • Heston Kjerstad hits grand slam in win over TEX
Heston Kjerstad hit a grand slam to help the Orioles to a 6-5 win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Kjerstad also walked twice, but you don’t want to hear about that. The rookie outfielder shellacked a Michael Lorenzen offering with the bases loaded to turn a 2-1 Texas lead into a 5-2 Baltimore cushion. The 25-year-old has gone deep twice in his limited time with the Orioles, and 18 times when combined with his outstanding run with Triple-A Norfolk. Kjerstad is still a better long-term play, but Saturday was a fine example of what kind of upside is in his left-handed bat. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:15 pm
    • Michael Lorenzen gives up grand slam in loss to O’s
Michael Lorenzen went five innings while allowing five runs in a loss to the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Lorenzen gave up two homers in the loss, and one of those was a grand slam to Heston Kjerstad. The other was a solo shot, as you could probably guess if you are decent at math. The right-hander clearly didn’t have his best command, as he gave up the two roundtrippers and also issued four walks against three strikeouts. Lorenzen still has a solid 3.40 ERA, and gets a chance to bounce back against the Rays next weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:15 pm

    • Jarred Kelenic hits solo homer off Paul Skenes
Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-3 with a homer in an extra-inning win Saturday over the Pirates.

Advice: Never give up on talent. Kelenic smoked a solo shot off Paul Skenes to lead off the bottom of the first, and he’s up to nine homers in the first half of the season. The 24-year-old also singled and drew a walk while improving his slash to .283/.329/.466. It’s understandable if fantasy players are skeptical of Kelenic given his previous struggles, but again, there’s a reason this was one of the best prospects in baseball a short time ago. There’s no question he’s capable of keeping this up and then some. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:18 pm
    • Nick Gordon homers in win over Phillies
Nick Gordon went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the Marlins 3-2 win over the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Gordon took Aaron Nola deep for a solo homer in the second inning to put the Marlins on the board. He got on base with a single in the ninth for his second hit of the day. The 28-year-old outfielder is slashing .232/.255/.401 with eight homers, 29 RBI, and five steals across 216 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:50 pm

    • Manny Machado homers twice in rout of Red Sox
Manny Machado homered twice and drove in five runs in an 11-1 blowout victory over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Machado blasted both homers off Tanner Houck, a three-run shot in the fifth and a two-run blast in the second. It’s the first multi-homer game for the 31-year-old in 2024, but five of his 10 homers have come thus far in the month of June. Machado’s also picked up multiple hits in his last three games and six times since June 19, and appears to be righting the ship after a disappointing first two-plus months of the campaign. • Garrett Stubbs homers in loss to Marlins
Garrett Stubbs went 1-for-2 with a solo homer against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Stubbs put the Phillies on the board with a solo homer off Roddery Muñoz to lead off the third inning, his first homer of the season. It was one of two runs the Phillies would score in the loss to Miami. The 29-year-old backstop has taken over as the primary catcher with J.T. Realmuto on the injured list. He’s slashing .216/.281/.261 across 96 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:50 pm
    • Lowe homers in return to lineup Saturday
Brandon Lowe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Lowe’s home run was his sixth of the season. It was certainly good to see him do something productive in his first game back in the Rays’ lineup since breaking his pinkie toe. With Lowe, you have to worry about when the next injury might come. He’s a decent power option in the middle infield as long as he’s playing. Lowe has a .218 average .756 OPS with 23 RBI on the season.

    • Abrams blasts 13th home run vs. Rays Saturday
CJ Abrams went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, a walk and two RBI against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams’ home run was his 13th of the season. He started the game with a home run off Aaron Civale in the first inning. Abrams is hitting .282 with an .852 OPS and 42 RBI on the season.

    • Michael Busch hits two-run homer in win over MIL
Michael Busch hit a two-run homer to help the Cubs to a win over the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Busch gave the Cubs a two-run lead in the first inning with a blast off Tobias Myers in the first inning. The 26-year-old has homered 10 times thus far in 2024, but only two of those roundtrippers have come in the month of June. Still, it’s been a quality first full year of MLB action for Busch thus far with an .809 OPS through 237 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:47 pm
