    • Goes deep in blowout loss
Keith went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 12-3 loss to the Twins, which was called after seven innings due to rain.

Advice: Keith was a bright spot for the Tigers on an ugly afternoon in Minneapolis. The young second baseman now has consecutive multi-hit efforts, and he's tripled and gone deep during the stretch. Overall, Keith has been so-so this year with a .236 average and .620 OPS, though he's been better from May onward after a rough first month in the majors. There's still potential for a big finish from the 22-year-old rookie. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:25 pm

    • David Hamilton steals two bags in victory over MIA
David Hamilton stole two bases while scoring twice and driving in a run in a victory over the Marlins in 12 innings on Thursday.

Advice: Hamilton went 1-for-5 in the contest with the walk. The speedy 26-year-old has provided plenty of thefts for the Red Sox and fantasy managers — and himself, of course, he should take pride in his work — and he’s now up to 23 of them in just 57 games. That’s certainly his best category, but Hamilton hasn’t been useless in others with a .267/.317/.418 slash over 165 at-bats. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:56 pm
    • Spencer Steer socks three-run HR against Yankees
Spencer Steer hit a three-run homer while helping the Reds to an 8-4 win over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Steer extended the Reds’ lead to 5-0 with a three-run blast off Marcus Stroman; the third homer Cincinnati hit against the right-hander. Steer has now gone deep 11 times with 54 RBI. The 26-year-old infielder’s .239/.332/.416 slash leaves a bit to be desired, but he’s starting to swing the bat better and should be a solid fantasy option over the second half of the 2024 campaign. • Begins assignment
Frazier (thumb) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Thursday.

Advice: Frazier has been on the injured list since June 24 due to a strained right thumb, but he's now been given the green light to test his thumb in a competitive environment. It's unclear how long the 32-year-old will remain in the minors, but a return before the All-Star break remains a possibility. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:43 pm

    • Luis Rengifo undergoing MRI on right wrist
Luis Rengifo is out of the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Athletics with right wrist soreness.

Advice: X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Rengifo left Wednesday’s game against the Athletics with right hand soreness following a ninth-inning swing. However, he’s slated to undergo an MRI on Friday in Chicago to determine the extent of the injury, specifically whether he’s dealing with any structural damage. There should be an update on his status in the coming days, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until the weekend, even if he checks out completely fine. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:02 pm

    • X-rays negative, but MRI coming
Rengifo is not in the lineup Thursday in Oakland after X-rays on his right wrist came back negative, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Rengifo is set to undergo an MRI on Friday to check for structural damage. The super utility player was injured during Wednesday's loss to the Athletics while taking a swing in the ninth inning. Miguel Sano is playing third base for the Angels on Thursday. • Getting breather Thursday
Polanco is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Polanco was given a semi-day off Wednesday in the designated hitter slot and will be out of the lineup altogether Thursday. Ryan Bliss is getting the start at second base for the Mariners. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:09 am

    • Taking BP with Double-A affiliate
Edman (wrist) will take live batting practice Friday and Saturday at Double-A Springfield, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: If that goes well, Edman should be cleared to begin a rehab assignment with Springfield. Edman was recently set back a few days by a sprained ankle, but that appears to be a non-issue now. The Cardinals had been hoping to get Edman back prior to the All-Star break, but it's possible the little hiccup with the ankle last week will convince the club to push Edman's return back until the start of the second half. He's been out all season while recovering from wrist surgery. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:30 am

    • Continues to lose playing time
Gordon is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Red Sox.

Advice: It's the fourth straight game on the bench for Gordon and the third consecutive time it's come against a right-hander. The 28-year-old looks to have lost his grip on a regular role versus righties, with Emmanuel Rivera being the primary beneficiary. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:27 am
