    • Cruises to win Wednesday
Urena (2-5) earned the win over Detroit on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out six batters over 6.2 innings.

Advice: Urena got through five perfect frames until Tigers rookie Justyn-Henry Malloy tagged him for his first MLB homer leading off the sixth inning. Urena rebounded by retiring the next five batters before getting pulled following a two-out walk in the seventh. The veteran righty's 6.2 frames tied a season-high mark and were enough to give him his third quality start over his past five appearances. Despite Urena's strong outing, he may be pushed out of the rotation this weekend if Jon Gray (groin) is ready to return from the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:59 pm

    • Snags third win
Hjelle (3-1) allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over 1.1 innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: Hjelle gave up a solo home run to Pavin Smith in the fifth inning, but Arizona never made a serious threat at a comeback. Hjelle ended up with the win because Jordan Hicks needed 92 pitches to get through 3.2 innings despite the Giants' strong offensive showing in support of their pitchers. All three of Hjelle's wins have come since May 17, and he's allowed three runs over 12 innings in that span. The right-hander is at a 2.77 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 25:4 K:BB through 26 innings this season, mainly serving as a long-relief option. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:44 pm
    • Picks up save
Moore pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Moore was called on for ninth-inning duties since Carlos Estevez had pitched both Monday and Tuesday. The save was Moore's first of the season, and he hadn't even picked up a hold in any of his last nine appearances after taking a blown save May 13 versus the Cardinals. The southpaw has a 5.32 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB over 23.2 innings this season, adding eight holds and a 2-2 record. Moore's poor ratios make him a less-than-ideal candidate for ancillary saves, especially as long as he's playing an Angels club that is 24-38 on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:17 pm
    • Collects third win
Soriano (3-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out one over six innings to earn the win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Soriano has gone at least six innings in each of his last four starts, giving up a total of 11 runs (10 earned) over 25.2 innings in that span. While the one strikeout match his season low, Soriano also kept the ball in the yard for his second straight start. The 25-year-old is at a 3.64 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB over 64.1 innings in 13 appearances (11 starts) this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road at Arizona. • Lit up by Yankees
Paddack (4-3) took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four-plus innings.

Advice: Paddack fell behind 4-0 after one frame but bounced back by holding the Yankees without a baserunner over the following three innings. However, the right-hander loaded the bases without retiring a batter in the fifth, and all three of those runners came around to score following his departure to further mar his final stat line. The four innings tied a season-low total for Paddack, matching the amount he completed in his season debut against Milwaukee on April 3. If there's a silver lining, it's that Paddack managed to punch out seven batters, his highest mark over his past five starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:35 pm

    • Tagged for walk-off blast
Kopech (1-6) allowed a solo home run to the only batter he faced, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Cubs.

Advice: Kopech was taken deep by Mike Tauchman as the Cubs won in walk-off fashion. It's been tough sledding for Kopech lately -- he's allowed five runs (four earned) over his last 2.2 innings, taking the loss in three of his last four appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 25.2 innings while adding five saves, a hold and two blown saves. If he continues to struggle, Kopech could eventually lose his high-leverage role, though the White Sox's poor play overall has made it difficult for any of the team's relievers to put up saves. • Matt Moore earns first save of season vs. Padres
Matt Moore tossed a clean ninth inning to earn the save against the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: With Carlos Estévez getting the night off on Wednesday, Moore was summoned in the ninth to close it out with a one-run lead over the Padres. He tossed a clean frame to shut the door on San Diego for his first save of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:14 pm
    • José Soriano earns win over Padres on Wednesday
José Soriano allowed two runs -- one earned -- with one strikeout over six innings in a win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Soriano did a great job working around six hits and a walk despite only one strikeout. He was able to limit damage throughout his start by inducing 13 groundouts. The Padres wouldn’t bring a run in until the sixth inning. Two singles, a double, and an error would bring two runs in for San Diego. Soriano would end his day after six frames with the quality start. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 3.64 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 55/26 K/BB ratio across 64 1/3 innings into a start against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 pm
    • Stumbles vs. Reds
Hudson didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Cincinnati, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The Rockies jumped out to an early 4-0 lead behind Hudson, but the Reds would ultimately tie the game with a pair of two-run homers off the right-hander before he departed in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old Hudson had been pitching well coming into Wednesday, allowing just three runs over 13 innings in his previous two outings. Overall, he's 2-7 on the year with a 5.25 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 35:33 K:BB across 61.2 innings. Hudson will look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for early next week in Minnesota. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 pm
