      Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Astros.

      Advice: Torkelson finally broke through for his first home run of the 2024 season, launching a two-run shot off of Houston reliever Seth Martinez with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. After producing 31 home runs over 159 games in 2023, it took the first baseman 38 contests to go deep in 2024.     • Jackson Chourio goes 0-for-2 in return to lineup
      After sitting out four straight games, Jackson Chourio went 0-for-2 with a walk in his return to the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.

      Advice: Chourio had a nicely hit liner, but it was caught by Brandon Crawford at short. The Brewers could have sent Chourio down last week, but they thought the break to work on things was a better idea.     • Spencer Torkelson gets first homer of 2024
      Spencer Torkelson finally hit his first homer of the season Sunday against the Astros.

      Advice: It was about as meaningless as a homer can be, coming with the Tigers down 9-1 with two outs in the ninth, but let’s not worry about that. Torkelson, who hit 31 homers last season, got his first today in his 164th plate appearances and 38th game.       Stephenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Giants.

    • Surrenders seven runs in loss
      Ragans (2-3) took the loss against the Angels on Saturday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: Ragans first ran into trouble in the top of the second after surrendering a leadoff triple to Kevin Pillar to open the frame, which would eventually lead to three runs coming home for Los Angeles. The lefty would also surrender runs in the third and seventh innings, with the final two of those runs coming across after he was relieved by Nick Anderson. Ragans had given up two runs or fewer in each of his last three starts coming in, but ended up matching his season high with seven runs allowed in Saturday's loss.       Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's win over the Padres.

      Advice: Hernandez jumped on a hanging slider after being down 1-2 in the count with two outs in the sixth and sent it over the wall in left field for a grand slam, putting the Dodgers up 5-0. It marked the outfielder's 11th home run of the season and the fifth in his last eight games.       De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and was hit by a pitch in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Giants.

      Advice: De La Cruz launched his ninth home run in the fourth inning for the Reds' lone run. He entered Saturday with multiple steals in three straight games.       Advice: Hoerner took rookie Paul Skenes deep in the fourth inning for just his second long ball of the season. He drove in another run an inning later when he walked with the bases loaded. The low power output isn't too surprising, as Hoerner had only nine home runs last year and just 10 in 2022.       Cole Ragans was torched for seven runs over 6 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Angels.

      Advice: The final line isn’t pretty, but it looks worse than it probably should as Ragans was charged with two additional runs following his exit from the contest when Nick Anderson allowed both inherited runners to cross the plate. A three-run homer by Jo Adell in the second inning was responsible for most of the damage against him in this one. The 26-year-old lefty notched only three strikeouts and issued one walk.
