    • Surrenders seven runs in loss
      Ragans (2-3) took the loss against the Angels on Saturday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: Ragans first ran into trouble in the top of the second after surrendering a leadoff triple to Kevin Pillar to open the frame, which would eventually lead to three runs coming home for Los Angeles. The lefty would also surrender runs in the third and seventh innings, with the final two of those runs coming across after he was relieved by Nick Anderson. Ragans had given up two runs or fewer in each of his last three starts coming in, but ended up matching his season high with seven runs allowed in Saturday's loss.     • Cole Ragans lit up for seven runs in loss to Halos
      Cole Ragans was torched for seven runs over 6 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Angels.

      Advice: The final line isn’t pretty, but it looks worse than it probably should as Ragans was charged with two additional runs following his exit from the contest when Nick Anderson allowed both inherited runners to cross the plate. A three-run homer by Jo Adell in the second inning was responsible for most of the damage against him in this one. The 26-year-old lefty notched only three strikeouts and issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 57/16 K/BB ratio across 49 innings (nine starts) into a favorable home matchup on Friday against the Athletics. Rotoworld Today, 4:23 am
       
    • Kodai Senga (shoulder) remains in holding pattern
      Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Saturday that Kodai Senga (shoulder) will need a few more bullpen sessions before progressing to facing hitters.

      Advice: Mendoza added that Senga remains in the process of tweaking his throwing mechanics, which is the reason he hasn’t faced hitters yet.       Webb (3-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings to take the loss versus the Reds on Friday.

      Advice: Webb has walked multiple batters in three straight starts, but he was at least able to pitch deeper in this contest after failing to get past the fourth inning in either of his last two outings. It's still an uncharacteristic rough patch for the Giants' ace. He sports a 3.38 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB through 53.1 innings across nine starts this season.       Logan Webb gave up three runs — two earned — while working seven innings in a loss Friday to the Reds.

      Advice: Webb was much better than his middling start Sunday against the Phillies, but unfortunately it does result in another loss for the 27-year-old. The right-hander gave up eight hits with two walks, and he struck out six. A solid effort, and it lowers his ERA to 3.38 on the season. The Dodgers come next for Webb. Rotoworld Friday, 9:49 pm

    • Wins third straight
      Lopez (4-2) earned the win Thursday over the Mariners, allowing one run on four hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: Lopez was excellent Thursday, holding Seattle to a lone second-inning run while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Lopez looks to be settling in -- he's won his last three starts while holding opponents to one run in back-to-back outings. He lowered his ERA to 3.89 with a 0.98 WHIP and a stellar 55:8 K:BB across eight starts (44 innings) this year. Lopez is currently slated for a home matchup with the Yankees in his next outing.     • Pablo López whiffs 10 in dominant win over M’s
      Pablo López allowed just a run while striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings in a victory over the Mariners on Thursday.

      Advice: López held the M’s to four hits, didn’t walk anyone, and threw 61-of-100 pitches for strikes. The only run came on an RBI single by Luke Raley in the second, and the only reason that run was able to score was Mitch Haniger reached on a bloop-double where two Minnesota defenders ran into each other. Outside of that the right-hander continued to impress, and he lowered his ERA to 3.89 — a number that is not indicative of how well he’s pitched this year.       Sale (5-1) earned the win over the Red Sox on Wednesday, hurling six shutout innings while allowing six hits and one walk. He struck out 10.

      Advice: Sale allowed at least one hit in each of his first five innings of work but was consistently able to work his way through it without sustaining any damage. He logged just one 1-2-3 inning, which came in the sixth, while fanning a season-high 10 batters on the night. The veteran lefty has now logged quality starts in three of his last four outings and hasn't produced fewer than six strikeouts in any of his seven starts this season.     • Sale dominates former team Wednesday
      Chris Sale was utterly dominant with six shutout innings and 10 strikeouts and picked up the win in the 5-0 victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

      Advice: Sale lowered his ERA on the season to 2.95 with the excellent outing. He certainly showed the Red Sox what they’re missing after trading him last offseason. The win was Sale’s fifth in seven starts this season. His 52 strikeouts are in the top 10 among qualified starting pitchers. Sale is set to take on the Chicago Cubs at home next week.
