• Another two-homer game
Soto went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: This was Soto's second multi-homer game in the last five contests. He's gone 8-for-19 (.421) with six RBI and seven runs scored over that span. The star outfielder continues to fit right in with the Yankees, slashing .313/.409/.569 with 13 homers, 40 RBI, 37 runs scored, four stolen bases, nine doubles and a triple over his first 51 games with the team. • Logs steal in loss
Caballero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Caballero had gone without a steal in his last seven games, matching his longest drought of the year, which he's now done three times. He's hitting .278 (15-for-54) over 18 games in May, picking up nine of his 18 steals on the year this month. The speedster has slashed .263/.319/.368 with two home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs, eight doubles and a triple through 168 plate appearances. Caballero continues to see a majority of the playing time at shortstop over Amed Rosario. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm
  • Juan Soto homers twice in win
Juan Soto went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI as the Yankees defeated the Mariners 7-3 on Wednesday.

Advice: It has been a magical first season in the Bronx for Soto who heard “MVP” chants after his second big fly. He’s been every bit as advertised for the Yankees and fantasy managers alike with a .313/.409/.978 slash line and 13 homers so far this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

  • José Caballero with two hits, swipes base in loss
José Caballero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: The stolen base was Cabellero’s 18th of the season and tied him with Brice Turang for second-most in the league behind only Elly De La Cruz. Those steals alone have turned him into one of the best bargains from draft season so far and as the Rays’ roster crunch becomes more crowded, Caballero’s defense at shortstop is very likely to keep him on the field every day. • Luis Arraez blasts first home run to power Padres
Luis Arraez blasted his first home run of the 2024 season on Wednesday, powering the Padres to a 7-3 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: Arraez started off the game with a bang on Wednesday, crushing a leadoff 374-foot (96.5 mph EV) blast off of Nick Martinez to give the Padres an early 1-0 lead. He also singled in the third inning and smacked a run-scoring single off of Brent Suter in the sixth inning that extended the Padres’ lead to 7-1. He tacked on another single in the ninth inning just for good measure. With his four-hit attack, the 27-year-old is now slashing .330/.373/.408 with a homer and 11 RBI. • Alex Bregman goes 0-for-4 against Angels
Alex Bregman went 0-for-4 as the Astros’ cleanup hitter Wednesday to finish hitless in the series against the Angels.

Advice: Bregman had three homers in two games against the A’s early last week, prompting the Astros to return him to the cleanup spot, but since then, he’s 4-for-31 with one RBI in eight games. It’s hard to imagine Bregman remaining this bad, but he’s long posted subpar BABIPs and his typically average exit velocity numbers are worse than usual right now. The rebound might not be as strong as most would hope. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:22 pm
  • On bench against lefty
Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: With lefty Nestor Cortes on the mound for the Yankees, the lefty-hitting Rojas will retreat to the bench after he had started in each of the Mariners' last eight games. Luis Urias will pick up a start at third base in Rojas' stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:01 pm

  • Out indefinitely with broken shoulder
The Padres placed Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured left shoulder.

Advice: Bogaerts suffered the injury on an awkward dive Monday in Atlanta. According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, the infielder doesn't appear to be dealing with any damage to his labrum and will avoid surgery, but he'll need significant down time for the shoulder to heal. Bogaerts intends to play again this season, perhaps by the latter part of the summer. With Bogaerts out indefinitely, Luis Arraez is likely to move off designated hitter and see more consistent playing time at second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:32 pm

  • Bogaerts out two months with fractured shoulder
Padres placed INF Xander Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left shoulder.

Advice: Ouch. Bogaerts sustained the injury while diving for a ball during the first game of Monday’s doubleheader. He’s expected to miss at least two months while recovering from the injuy. Luis Arraez is covering second base on Wednesday and will probably see additional action there while Bogaerts is shelved. David Peralta was promoted from Triple-A El Paso to take his place on the Padres’ active roster on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:18 pm
