• Plans to make next turn
Gallen (hamstring) expressed optimism Saturday that he will make his next scheduled start, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A day after Gallen was removed from a start, the right-hander said he was "encouraged" by the progress made overnight. His next projected turn comes Wednesday at home against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:02 am

  • Dominates in no-decision
Bibee tossed seven scoreless innings, giving up two hits and no walks while striking out nine batters in a no-decision against Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Bibee made a talented Atlanta offense look inept, racking up 16 swinging strikes and allowing just two hits over seven frames. However, he was matched in putting zeroes up on the scoreboard by veteran Charlie Morton, and both hurlers had to settle for a no-decision. This was Bibee's first quality start of the campaign -- before Saturday, he hadn't gone deeper than 5.2 frames in any outing. Through six starts, the right-hander has a 3.45 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB over 31.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 pm
  • Surrenders six runs Saturday
Civale allowed six runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Civale made it through three scoreless frames before serving up an Andrew Benintendi three-run homer in the fourth. The right-hander returned for the fifth frame but gave up three straight hits for another run before departing with one out, and both runners he left on base later came around to score. Civale began the campaign with three quality starts among his first four appearances, but he's fallen off since then, yielding 11 runs across nine innings over his subsequent two starts. He'll try to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to be a home outing against the Mets next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 pm
  • Tanner Bibee whiffs nine over seven scoreless
Tanner Bibee held Atlanta scoreless over seven innings with nine strikeouts, but didn’t qualify for a decision in his start Saturday.

Advice: In one of the better pitching duels of the year, Bibbee and Charlie Morton battled zero-for-zero over the first seven frames. Bibbee allowed only two hits while in action, and he didn’t walk anyone while firing 60-of-91 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has struck out 17 batters over his last two starts, and he’s lowered his ERA to 3.45 after a couple of shaky outings in the early portion of the season. Bibee is back in action Friday against a not-so-good Angels’ lineup at home in Cleveland. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:18 pm
  • Aaron Civale struggles over 4 1/3 against CWS
Aaron Civale was charged for six runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Civale was fortunate to not pick up a loss, as the no-decision has nothing to do with effective pitching. The right-hander was solid over the first three frames, but failed the second time through the lineup with three runs allowed in both the fourth and fifth frames. Civale has struggled in back-to-back outings, and his ERA for the month of April is a disappointing 5.06 despite pitching well to begin the month. He gets the Mets on Friday. • Labors through 4.1 innings
Cabrera (1-1) took the loss Saturday versus the Nationals, yielding six runs (five earned) on four hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Cabrera cruised through the first two frames, striking out three while allowing just one runner to reach base. It was a struggle after that, though, with the big blow coming in the fifth inning when Jesse Winker walloped a grand slam. Cabrera twirled a gem in his first start earlier this month, but his second outing wasn't great and this one was worse. Further inconsistency should be expected. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:11 pm
  • Hitting pause on rehab
Sewald (oblique) will have his rehab slowed a bit due to soreness, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Sewald felt some soreness following a rehab appearance with Triple-A Reno earlier this week. He had been scheduled for a bullpen session Saturday, but that has been scrapped. While it does not seem to be a major setback for the reliever, Sewald no longer appears poised to return soon. Kevin Ginkel will continue to serve as the Diamondbacks' closer while Sewald recovers. • Edward Cabrera struggles late in loss to Nationals
Edward Cabrera was charged for six runs — five earned — in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Cabrera was pitching well over the first four frames, but the fifth was a disaster that saw him give up a grand slam to Jesse Winker. He walked two and struck out four in a start that sees his ERA balloon to 5.28. Cabrera will try and bounce back with a home start against the Rockies on Thursday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:20 pm
  • Paul Sewald slowed a bit due to renewed soreness
Paul Sewald (oblique) will not throw a scheduled bullpen session on Saturday due to renewed soreness in his oblique.

Advice: The Diamondbacks aren’t calling it a major setback for the right-hander, but they will slow down his rehab a bit to make sure not to push him. It initially looked as though Sewald could join the Diamondbacks’ bullpen in the coming days, but now it looks like Kevin Ginkel may be working the ninth inning for another week or so.
