• Corbin Burnes fans 11 in defeating Mariners
Corbin Burnes fanned 11 while allowing one run in six innings Sunday as the Orioles bested the Mariners 6-3.

Advice: Burnes matched his season-high for strikeouts; he also fanned 11 on Opening Day. Oddly, he hasn’t struck out more than six in any of his other eight starts. Still, he’s been plenty successful in amassing a 2.56 ERA to date. The win today was his first since April 20. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:54 pm

  • Aaron Civale uneven again in loss
Aaron Civale allowed four earned runs across 5 1/3 innings on Sunday. He walked four and struck out three.

Advice: A popular breakout pick, Civale has not had a good season. Sunday was more of the same as he didn’t miss many bats and just couldn’t get out of innings cleanly. Two of the runs were inherited that came around to score after he exited, there was traffic nearly every frame and it was a marvel he only allowed four earned runs. He will take a 5.92 ERA into his next start at home against the Royals. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:39 pm
  • Tanner Bibee stellar across seven innings
Tanner Bibee struck out eight over seven innings in the Guardians’ 5-2 win over the Twins on Sunday. He scattered four hits, walked one, and allowed one earned run in a no-decision.

Advice: Bibee has struggled relative to expectations out of the gate this season but he was fantastic on Sunday. A José Miranda home run was the only blemish on his ledger as he kept the Twins off-balance all afternoon with a heavy diet of his signature slider. His average fastball velocity also trickled up to 96 MPH, his highest by a full tick in any start this season. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:17 pm
  • Stuck with loss Saturday
Cano (2-2) allowed two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Mariners.

Advice: Cano allowed the first two batters to reach base in the eighth inning, giving up one run in the process. Cionel Perez also allowed an inherited runner to score, and the Orioles couldn't overcome the deficit. This is the first time Cano has given up multiple earned runs in an appearance all season, and just the second time he's given up more than one run of any kind. He's now at a 2.95 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB while adding two saves and 10 holds over 21.1 innings. The late-inning mix in Baltimore remains in flux, and Cano isn't doing himself any favors with three runs allowed over his last 1.1 innings across three appearances. • Hamstring tightened during start
Gallen revealed after Saturday's start against the Tigers that his right hamstring tightened up on him during the fourth inning, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: It's the same hamstring that he had issues with earlier this season, which resulted in an early removal from one start and having another pushed back. Gallen wound up pitching into the seventh inning Saturday, ultimately getting charged with three runs on seven hits while striking out 10 over 6.2 frames. The right-hander said after the outing that his hamstring feels fine and he's unconcerned. Still, given that it's been a recurring problem, it's something to keep in mind. • Hurls quality start Saturday
Sanchez allowed two runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out eight batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Washington on Saturday.

Advice: Sanchez fell behind when he gave up a first-inning run, but he allowed only one more score the rest of the way. The left-hander fanned eight batters -- his highest mark over his past five outings -- and finished with his fourth quality start of the campaign. Sanchez has been a solid fifth starter for the Phillies this season, registering a 3.31 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 47:18 K:BB over 49 innings. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:39 pm
  • Zac Gallen strikes out 10 in loss to Tigers
Zac Gallen pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Saturday night, racking up 10 strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of three-run baseball.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander scattered seven hits on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He had kept the Tigers off the board completely through the first six innings, but the wheels fell off in the seventh. After allowing a leadoff double to Gio Urshela, he struck out the next two hitters before allowing an RBI double to Javier Báez and an RBI single to Carson Kelly before turning the ball over to the bullpen — who would allow the inherited runner to score as well. Gallen generated a whopping 20 swings and misses in the ballgame — 12 of those on his knuckle curve — while posting an elite CSW of 40 percent. He’ll bring a 3.02 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 55/14 K/BB ratio (50 2/3 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Marlins. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:04 pm

  • Sanchez strikes out eight in no-decision
Christopher Sanchez allowed two earned runs and struck out eight and got a no-decision in the Phillies’ 4-3 victory over the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: It was Sanchez’ third start with at least eight strikeouts in nine tries this season. He lowered his ERA to 3.31 on the season, but still only has two wins. The 27-year-old left-hander is scheduled to face the Rockies at Coors Field next weekend.

  • Edward Cabrera (shoulder) throws bullpen Friday
Edward Cabrera (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Friday.

Advice: Cabrera landed on the shelf back in early May with a right shoulder impingement, so it’s an extremely encouraging development that he’s progressed to throwing a bullpen session already. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return yet, but he’s expected to return to Miami’s starting rotation at some point next month. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:31 am
