• Raisel Iglesias dodges traffic to net eighth save
Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Mariners to collect his eighth save of the season.

Advice: Iglesias was summoned to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and certainly made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Luke Raley before giving up a single to ensuing batter Julio Rodríguez. He set down Mitch Haniger and Jorge Polanco before getting Cal Raleigh to ground out to preserve the victory. The 34-year-old veteran stopper has converted eight of nine save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.19 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 9/3 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings (13 appearances). • Chris Sale posts nine strikeouts in win over M’s
Chris Sale recorded a season-high nine strikeouts and allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: Sale authored arguably his strongest performance of his Braves debut so far, generating an eye-popping 21 swinging strikes, and finishing with an elite 39 percent CSW. A run-scoring single from Jorge Polanco with two outs in the fifth inning represented the lone tally against him in this one. The oft-injured 35-year-old veteran southpaw has looked rejuvenated since arriving in Atlanta, allowing three earned runs or fewer in five of six starts to open the year. He’ll carry a strong 3.44 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42/7 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings (six starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against his former team, the suddenly resurgent Red Sox. • Emerson Hancock gets quick hook in loss to Braves
Emerson Hancock was charged with five runs (one earned) on Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: Hancock navigated a pair of scoreless frames before issuing a bases-loaded free pass in the third inning and allowing four additional unearned runs to cross the plate in the ensuing frame following a one-out fielding error by right fielder Mitch Haniger. He finished with four strikeouts and also walked three batters. It’s worth noting that Bryan Woo appears to be on the precipice of returning, which would likely ship him back to Triple-A Tacoma in the near future. For the moment, he’ll take the ball on Tuesday against the Twins at Target Field. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Not in starting lineup
Newman is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's outing versus the Dodgers.

Advice: The 30-year-old infielder will get a break with Blaze Alexander starting at shortstop Wednesday as the Diamondbacks finish out their series against Los Angeles. Newman has started at shortstop in six of Arizona's last 10 games and is slashing .157/.189/.314 on the season. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Wins third straight
Ober (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings.

Advice: After allowing two runs in the opening frame, Ober settled in to hold Chicago to just two more runs over his final five innings en route to a third consecutive winning decision. The four runs were the most Ober's allowed since he was tagged for eight runs in his first start of the year against Kansas City -- he'd held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. Overall, the 28-year-old right-hander sports a 4.55 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings this season. Ober's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mariners in his next turn. • Astros consider IL stint for McCormick (hamstring)
Astros’ manager Joe Espada admitted Wednesday that they’re considering a stint on the injured list for Chas McCormick (hamstring).

Advice: McCormick is available to pinch-hit on Wednesday, but it sounds like if he doesn’t improve very soon that he’ll wind up on the shelf for a while. Trey Cabbage was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday to add depth to their outfield. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Bailey Ober gives up four runs, wins anyway
Bailey Ober won despite allowing four runs in six innings Wednesday against the White Sox.

Advice: It’s Ober’s worst start since he gave up eight runs on March 31, but still not too shabby. He’s sporting a 3-1 record, a 4.55 ERA and an excellent 1.04 WHIP. Next up is a home start versus the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 2:27 pm

  • Tommy Pham homers in loss to Twins
Tommy Pham homered and doubled in the loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: Pham is 9-for-24 with just two strikeouts in six games since joining the White Sox. He’s going to have to hit better than usual and keep running like he did last season in order to be of use in mixed leagues while playing for such an awful team. We’re not optimistic, but he’s certainly off to a great start. Rotoworld Today, 2:26 pm

  • IL stint possible
McCormick's hamstring is still bothering him Wednesday, and the Astros are considering placing him on the injured list, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: No official move has been made just yet, but manager Joe Espada said there have been conversations about whether or not to put the 29-year-old on the shelf. McCormick will not start Wednesday's game against the Guardians but is available to hit, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, despite still having issues with his hamstring. Joey Loperfido will instead get the nod in left field and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:15 pm
