• Back from IL
The Angels reinstated Sano (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Knee inflammation has kept Sano sidelined since the beginning of May. He was medically cleared to return from the IL on Saturday; however, poor performance during his rehab assignment combined with a cluttered Angels roster caused him to remain at Triple-A Salt Lake for a few additional days. He went 6-for-10 with a homer and four RBI in his last two rehab games and will now rejoin the Halos' infield unit, replacing Michael Stefanic. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:46 pm

  • Brandon Drury out fifth straight game due to illness
Brandon Drury (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: Drury has managed to somehow avoid a trip to the injured list, but he remains out of Los Angeles’ lineup for the fifth consecutive contest due to an ongoing battle with a respiratory virus. It’ll be defensive ace Luis Guillorme filling in at the keystone in his ongoing absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:40 pm

  • Angels activate Miguel Sanó for Tuesday return
Angels activated INF Miguel Sanó from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Sanó is back with Los Angeles following a two-month absence due to a left knee injury, and a bizarre setback when he suffered a serious burn after falling asleep with a heating pad on that same knee. The 31-year-old slugger has one round-tripper in 21 games this season for the Angels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:34 pm

  • Works out of leadoff role Monday
Bleday hit leadoff for the first time this season in a loss to the Angels on Monday, going 1-for-4.

Advice: Max Schuemann led off Saturday and Sunday against the Twins following Abraham Toro's (hamstring) placement on the injured list, but the rookie went 0-for-8 with four strikeouts in that pair of games. That led to manager Mark Kotsay shaking things up Monday, deploying Bleday in the leadoff role for the first time. While the slugging outfielder may not seem like the prototypical candidate for the job on the surface, Bleday does have a solid .335 on-base percentage, 10.7 percent walk rate and 18.4 percent strikeout rate that speak to a level of plate discipline befitting a spot atop the order. • Jo Adell goes 0-for-4, hitting .111 in June
Jo Adell finished 0-for-4 against the A’s on Monday, leaving him 7-for-63 with one homer in June.

Advice: Adell looked like maybe the AL’s most improved player over the first quarter of the season, but he’s all of the way down to .181/.242/.386 now. At least his defensive gains have remained intact. The Angels ought to keep playing him regularly, probably for the rest of the season, but it’s certainly still up for debate whether he belongs in their plans for 2025 and beyond. • Available to pinch hit Monday
Drury (illness) went through a workout before Monday's game against the Athletics and will be available off the bench, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury has been held out of the lineup since Saturday due to an upper respiratory virus, but he's close to returning to the starting lineup. Michael Stefanic draws the start at second base Monday with Drury available off the bench. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:33 pm

  • Tyler Black takes seat against right-hander
Tyler Black is on the bench against a righty Monday for the first time since being recalled last week.

Advice: Black sat against a lefty in his first day back in the majors, but he had started versus four straight righties since. Tonight, though, the Brewers wanted to give Christian Yelich a day off his feet and put him in the DH spot. Black is 3-for-11 with three walks since being recalled. The Brewers aren’t currently interested in putting Black anywhere other than first base or DH, so when Yelich or someone else besides Rhys Hoskins DHs, there’s no room for Black. • Advances to running bases
Rendon (hamstring) was cleared to run the bases Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rendon continues to take steps forward in his rehab, and Bollinger notes that Monday's workout is the first time he's been given the green light to circle the bases since suffering a left hamstring strain. The 34-year-old remains without a firm timeline for a return, though the club should have an idea of what his minor-league rehab assignment will look like in the near future. • Back in lineup Monday
Neto (calf) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth for Monday's series opener against Oakland, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Neto was removed in the fourth inning of Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers due to left calf tightness. Angels manager Ron Washington said after Saturday's game that the injury was minor, per Sam Blum of The Athletic, and Neto will end up not missing any games with the team having its off day Sunday. Neto is slashing .250/.299/.433 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI across 272 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:38 pm
