• Yandy Díaz goes 0-for-5 in loss to Brewers
Yandy Díaz finished 0-for-5 in the loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Díaz did reach on an error, but he was credited with four groundouts and one flyout today. His groundball rate is currently checking in at 62%, well above his already problematic career mark of 53%. Hopefully, it’s something he can straightened out in the next few weeks. If not, it looks like we’re back to the Díaz of 2019-21, when he was a valuable major leaguer but one without much to offer in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:49 pm

  • Jon Berti (back) won’t play rehab game Wednesday
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Jon Berti (groin) won’t play in his scheduled minor league rehab game on Wednesday due to tightness in his back.

Advice: Boone termed it a precautionary measure and said that they were hopeful Berti would be able to return to the lineup on Thursday. He’s probably going to need a couple more games before he’s ready to rejoin the Yankees, but if all goes well we could see him in Pinstripes at some point next week. Rotoworld Today, 1:46 pm

  • Starting at shortstop Wednesday
Brujan will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Brujan had been set to get the day off, but he'll be pressed into the starting nine at shortstop after Tim Anderson (thumb) was scratched from the lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 1:08 pm

  • Matt Vierling homers, knocks in three runs
Matt Vierling went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a sac fly against the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer was on a truly awful curveball from Miles Mikolas. That was the third hardest-hit ball of the game. His first-inning single was the second hardest at 109.9 mph, trailing only a Willson Contreras homer. Vierling has always shown ample power, but he’s lifting the ball more often this year and he’s off to a nice start at .282/.311/.447. The Tigers will likely want to keep him in the lineup regularly after Gio Urshela returns. Rotoworld Today, 1:08 pm

  • Nolan Gorman goes 0-for-3 against Tigers
Nolan Gorman went 0-for-3 in the loss to the Tigers on Wednesday, dropping his average to .190.

Advice: Statcast thinks Gorman has been fairly unlucky, but his strikeout rate remains terrible and he’s not hitting the ball hard as consistently as he did last year. The Cardinals should stick with him for now, but they might consider sending him down if he’s still not hitting once Tommy Edman returns. Rotoworld Today, 1:08 pm

  • Angels place Miguel Sanó (knee) on 10-day IL
Angels placed INF Miguel Sanó on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 28, with left knee inflammation.

Advice: The Angels had been playing a man down while the 30-year-old slugger was hobbled by a knee injury, but they simply couldn’t do it any longer. Willie Calhoun had his contract selected from Triple-A Salt Lake to take his place on the active roster. Rotoworld Today, 1:07 pm

  • Placed on IL with knee injury
The Angels placed Sano on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with left knee inflammation.

Advice: Sano has missed most of the last week with the injury, and the Angels finally decided to deactivate him. He will be eligible to return from the IL next week, but it's not clear yet whether he's expected to make it back by that time. Willie Calhoun was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding movfe and could see some starts at designated hitter, although the Halos might filter through multiple players in the spot. • Moves to bench Wednesday
Brujan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: With Tim Anderson (thumb) returning to action following a one-game absence, Brujan will head to the bench after filling in as Miami's starting shortstop in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win. Before Tuesday, Brujan had started three of the Marlins' previous four games at third base, and he'll continue to vie with Emmanuel Rivera for playing time at that position until Jake Burger (oblique) returns from the 10-day injured list. • Fills in for resting Bogaerts
Wade will start at second base and bat ninth Wednesday against the Reds.

Advice: Wade will stay in the starting nine for the second straight day, but his run of regular playing time at third base against right-handed pitching has come to an end with Manny Machado having recently been cleared to play defense after he had been deployed exclusively at designated hitter for much of the first month of the season. With Machado likely to start at third base more often than not, Wade looks poised to serve as a utility man moving forward. Wade will pick up his first start of the season at second base while Xander Bogaerts receives a day off. Rotowire.com Today, 11:59 am
